Hi to all. I am a student and brand new to the trading and markets. I know everything related to trading theoretically. I want to get the exposure of practical knowledge. If I invest in market there is more risk I need to bear.

Is there any other way to do trading without investing money?
Please suggest me.
Thanks for the guidance in advance.

Re: Please suggest me…?

welcome to asf, well you can play the ASX stock trading game. They give you are theoretical $50K to invest in a list of stocks, most of them in the ASX100 & ASX200 if i remember correctly. Check out the ASX website for more details ;)

Hi Cathy

Welcome to ASF! Hope you find your time here to be enjoyable.

In order to get the most out of ASF it's best to read the ASF Code of Conduct and Posting Guidelines. As a starter try browsing this Beginner's Forum for existing threads on the types of things you are interested in, you can also use the 'Search' tool at the top of this page.

Good luck!

Cathy, have you tried paper trading? This allows you to 'get a feel' for the markets and to try various trading techniques and systems without have to risk any money.

Cheers,
scsl

I wish I knew all the theory. You don't need as much help as we do. Keep posting the theory please.

Thanks to all for the replies.

I got the good response. Thanks to the forum members.

ASF site is very good and we can find good stuff related to the market information. When I open that ASF sharemarket game all the registration were closed. So, I could not get the chance to play the game.

The other one which avio sent about gnutrade is good. The flash presentation in the trading window will attractive for the new traders.

Acio can u suggest me which one is better in "per point" and "basic bet"? If you are a regular trader in this site.

Cheers..
:)

Hi cathy,

Good to know u liked the site I suggested , have been trying it out very recently , pretty good , yeah 'Per point' on gnutrade is like normal buy and sell with a stop loss limit , I personally prefer the 'Basic bet' , here u can bet whether the particular product u chose is gong to go higher or lower , and here the best part is that u know how much u will lose and how much will u win ....... :) , so well anyway u try it out , I am sure u will like it.........

Cheers.

hey cathy. Theory is good, but in this market you'll also need balls... or ovaries of steel.

Best of luck trading, and hope you have a lot of fun and success.

I certainly am,

Yeah, you can play the Australian Sharemarket game but it isn't like the real thing. Of course you will learn a thing or two - but its still theoretical.

I would suggest that you start trading - get your hands dirty, with a small amount of money. Small enough so you can bounce back from any major losses, large enough so you can feel the pain and excitement of any loss or profit.

Good luck!

Search this site for all the best infomation sites...eg Kitco metals....and learn about commodities and how they effect the share price...zinc is a damn fine example at the moment.......personaly I would be trading any uranium stocks ATM if I wasn't up to my eyeballs in zinc/lead stocks.....

The best thing I learnt is not to listen to hype on small stocks, research them then buy in the dips, and the trend is your friend!....

Definitely play the game for a while before you get onto CFD's or any other more technical stuff....and when you do watch the news on tv....especialy the abc market reports....made a killing every time there.....

AND ESPECIALY DON'T GAMBLE....TAKE YOUR TIME...AND REMEMBER YOUR SYSTEM IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT TO EVERYONE ELSES...YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE IT UP YOURSELF AS YOU GO ALONG!

WRITE YOUR RULES DOWN AND STICK THEM NEXT TO YOUR COMPUTER, AND HAVE A LIST OF THINGS TO TICK OFF BEFORE YOU TRADE A STOCK.....EG VOL. CHART, LME STOCKS.......ECT AND ESPECIALY GUT FEELING!...THE LAST TICK.....;)

BUY A STRESS BALL TOO....HEHE

AND WHEN YOU HAVE MADE YOUR FIRST MILLION.....DON'T FORGET US HERE AT THE A.S.F. ...... YOUR SHOUT BABY!....LOL.....:)

Hey,
Really it’s great to have the valuable suggestions from you. Investing the small amount is a good idea to know the market trends. Lot of downloadable stuff is available in ASF and it’s worthy to implement.

What is the “Stress Ball” concept?

Get ready for treat I am going to become millionaire.

Special thanks to Caliente, TraderPro and pacer.

Cheers..
:)
