Share Trading Software (In General)

Re: Share Trading Software (In General).

And studying up wont help you because technical analysis, at least all that point figure japanese candlestick on my head and shoulders sticking out my ****, is bull****.

Try learning some real modelling techniques, if you're up to it.

cheers,
chemist.

And what would you use to compile analyse them a pen and paper?

Re: Share Trading Software (In General).

Hello Chemist,

Tell me more about your real modelling techniques, I'm up for it !

I think it is asking too much to expect a money back guarantee on a trading system AND a refund on trading losses. Imagine the arguments!

?? Surely, if it would actually work, there wouldn't be any arguments. Unless you're assuming I can't follow the instructions? My point is, if these trading systems can't be proven to be any better than you or I doing our best, why pay thousands of dollars for it?

Ah does anyone know what this joker is on about? Perhaps he should return to sharescene/hotcopper/ozestock where he belongs?
Why what the hell are you on about, just that one little sticker from you, then ya vanished, No context to the subject. Personally I think you may have been fingering yourself when you did it. and from now on I might refer to you as Crapston from wopwop. :swear:

Anyway strearing away from Crapston the little pionter sister!

I need to know what part of my post, Professor Fink didn't understand? the top or the bottom, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go back on my word and its good see you guys talking up software, stradagies, and systems. May be its all in the technique you use. May be the chemist could help Professor Fink with his inquiry. Running of Great Pigs (Quote)and Tech/a's interishion, I must agree that paper trading is the answer to a suggestful system or stradagy. Basing your means and stradagy to paper enables you to access the market and find its strongest commonities etc.
But theres more to technical analyis than charting head and sholders above everyone else. Find your self a system that can find stocks based on a monthly/yearly Profit Compound, Market Capital?, Yielding dividend, P/E Ratio, Profitable trades, 52/32 week high lows. Analyse those componants to its greatest profit test and I think you may have a winner aspecially if the bulls are running!
Or maybe I'm just being nyeve. And I want to know why its not possible to create a system that can pin piont were the stock is likly to be in # months. Call it what you like,-Forsee, prediction, cheating, lossing whatever. I say thats its more than possible. Profiding you don't like standing in Bull$h#*^!

How ya like them apples Crapston!

Re: Share Trading Software (In General).

I agree with you, Amibroker is Good for share Trading
I have been Using it for Years now

Definately a can of worms, I have held a Multi Charts license for over 5 years. It's amazing to compare the first iterations (ver 1.9 for me) to today's 7.4 and 64-bit 8.beta. It has been a pleasure to be part of this substantial acceleration. There were undoubtedly bumps and hassles in the very early years, but is that really uncommon? It has matured into a very stable/robust state. As an American trained engineer in a previous life, the one thing I truly admire about the Russian counterpart is their ability to cut to the chase and get it done in as few relevant steps as possible. It is of little surprise Wall St draws heavily from talent in this region to develop their custom execution/coalesce platforms. MC developers (SW Russia) are sharp and understand the term hustle. You'll be hard-pressed to find faster turn-around times at retail level. I'm frequently tinkering with new software/broker api's. Over the years, I simply have never been out of click's reach from MC for charting & partial backtest research.
Alongside MC, use Matlab/Scypi for more involved analysis/brain-storming, IB execution & API, TT x_trader pro rt data & execution (just switched over from CQG Trader), MarketDelta MP, and IQFeed rt data. Trade us/euro index & currency futures.

Currently run MC 7.4 on Win Pro 7 64-bit w/o issue. Since MC is efficiently multi-threaded, it rockets on a dual xeon e5645@3.5g/evga sr-2/Intel 510 SSD to say the least. You will be quite satisfied using chips such as Intel 3930k/2600k if you plan to heavily test. I'm open to an ESL Close of Market option but like most soft, I always wait at least a month to adopt the latest full-release. Very much looking forward to 8.x 64-bit final.

Wholeheartedly recommend.

Can someone recommend a really good trading platform

Hello,

I've been trading for the past year, after not having traded for several years. I'm currently using the normal CommSec platform, however, since I've been upping my trading, I've decided to look into trading platforms/systems. I trade shares and derivatives (Options) and occasionally, CFD's. I realise that there are quite a few trading platforms and this is why I am kindly seeking some feedback/information.

I am looking into systems that enable me to have my charts, watchlist(s), streaming news, live price quotes etc to be on my screen. I am happy to pay for these services, as long as they offer what I require. I am aware of CommSec Iress, but don't really know much about it and/or the intricacies of what it offers.

I appreciate any information/response.

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Found another charting platform

Hey ASF users!

Found another charting platform over at www.money.net

It's a free 7 day trial, then $1 per week for the first 4 weeks, then it's $50 per month thereafter.

I fired it up for the first time today and it's a bit slow, but that might just be my slow internet connection.

I found this one after trying to find a similar program to The Bourse, I really wish they hadn't changed everything to version 7. There was nothing wrong with version 6.

PS: Moved to existing thread.
