I haven't found a post under 20 years ago so I thought I'd start a discussion.

A guy from KOSEC securities keeps calling me up offering there services. Very persistent. While I am happy to hear other peoples thoughts and ideas I usually do my own investments. Also the Motley Fool bombards me with Spam on a alternative email Address.

I am however looking for a "self managed fund" for the Wife that I don't have to be too much involved in so a service like this is interesting to me.

Anyone have any dealings with these type of services?

Mate, the only expense you should have is brokerage and a good accountant at the end of the year.

I don't get any spam anymore through either blocking calls/emails or doing my " I have just been released from the Secure Mental Health Unit " spiel with the persistent ones.

They are all worthless.

Stick the missus' money in to an Industry Super Fund is the next best thing to having a SMSF.

Inside of Super is the best money, outside of super it is too dark to see for crooks.

Oh, also avoid anyone called Hamish. There seem to be many about.

Thanks GG.
I do my (our) trading and our SMSF.
Still want to find a way to get expert opinions (outside of ASF) and have a finger on the pulse without being chained to the PC

In my younger days I subscribed to some that you mentioned and more.

I found ASF better than anything else.

Most people don't use the search function on ASF for research.

I do.

Yes, it is the time invested vs. the edge gained.

I'm no expert but just from your posts I believe you have a good hang on things, as good as anyone can.

Macro, Medio, Micro; Whether it be Fundamental or Chart Analysis.

Thanks but esp today i feel dumber than Dumb.

Probably a good thing I am so risk adverse atm.
I got more time now I'll continue to readup, watch and learn.

Interesting to most of us i would reckon, to bad its mostly crap and spruking, no one can tell you to buy Afterpay at $1.60, Tyro at 1.60 maybe? they are all playing it safe, the Lincoln indicator lists have a very good track record, but having said that i doubt Afterpay ever made one of their lists.

Kosec is a straight out fraud. Steer clear. I am not a fan of the Fools either.

Have a look at Rask Finance, lots of educational content on Owen's site as well as investment info. Another one I like is https://arichlife.com.au run by Claude Walker. Both are friends of mine so I may be biased but i find them less promotional and hypey than some of the others.
