Going through the low volume micro cap stocks and all I see that could go up is oil/gas explorers in the UK region. But, they've started going up too soon. Blast them, except AJL, go you good thing.

I'm left with the down and out gold sector. Can gold regain it's lustre ?

Joe - I'm staying with RED, thanks. It can't go down much more (never say this in a stock forum).

Possibly there is further to run in the Uranium stock surge, looking at the Uranium ETF which is up again today...

Wanted to tip DYL which is still in Speculative Stock Portfolio, having taken quick partial profits. But due to conflict of interest and due to the fact that stock has rallied strongly, I will look for another Uranium stock and post reasons in the appropriate thread...

Found a junior Uranium stock that has not been bid up yet, sitting just above a support level. will post a chart in PEN thread.

Joe, could you kindly take my pick Peninsula Energy Ltd (PEN) for Sept Competition.

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. Either before or after posting your entry and before the deadline for entries you must post in the forum thread of the stock you have entered providing either a general update or a view on why you think the share price is going to increase in the short term.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between the close of trading on 31 August (entry price) and the close of trading on 30 September.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The entry price for all entries is the closing price on the last trading day of this month.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Wednesday, 31 August to enter. However, in practice entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :xyxthumbs

In the immortal words of a certain moose:
Bullwinkle: Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!
Rocky: (looking a bit fed up) Again?
Bullwinkle: (tearing his sleeve off) Nothing up my sleeve!
Bullwinkle: (putting his hand into the hat) Presto!
Bullwinkle: (Pulls IOZ out of the hat!)

If its good enough for the moose, its good enough for me. IOZ, again, for September please.

and young Albert defined insanity, as picking a stock because it's down, therefore can't go any further.

C79, thanks Joe
i would have resorted that , but the comp. has a one cent minimum , so it can always go down one cent ( unless it consolidates and continues plunging .. or you picked an oil ETF )
