With 'magic round' in Brisvagus, (have been previously an outstanding event); V'landys has spoken with the Courier Mail journalist Peter Badel and commented that Queensland could have a fifth franchise as part of a 20 team league. Moreover, ARL Commission has been underwhelmed by Kiwi bids for a second New Zealand team, opening the door for the Brisbane Tigers (Brisbane Easts) or Jets (Western Corridor) to be Queensland’s fifth NRL club.
“Another NRL team in Queensland is an option, absolutely,” V'landys said.
“We have never ruled out a fifth team in Queensland, there’s a lot of options for the 20th team and that’s one of them."
Am aware that QRL CEO Ben Ikin has revealed publicly an appetite for the Western Corridor (Ipswich way) franchise admittance into the NRL comp.

Big Wayney, less than impressed after the Rabbits performance going down to the Knights 30 points to 4. Had to have a chuckle at Bennetts media interview just after the Rabbits flogging ...
Owning attitude pretty much spot on. Big Wayney will need to fix it and I reckon big wayney would NOT have been impressed with Latrell's performance and getting suspended again... would have been seething ... crunch time... for the rabbits.

Broncos were awful today, they looked flat and disinterested to me.
The halves were slow.......................... they are both old, they need a young zip zip man in there to find some holes.

No one challenged the defence much, maybe Walsh plays 5/8 or bring back Mam to add some variation to the attack.
A running 5/8 for the Knights caused lots of problems for Souths yesterday

I think Walsh brings more creative flair to the team
Cobbo is a great runner, a good defender, good finisher but he needs someone like Walsh to create the chance for him to finish.

Yes indeed so, only comment rcw1 will make on Walsh, playing 'devils advocate' is his brashness ... the boldness of youth ... mistakes are made and mistakes lose games. Personally, kinda get the view also that the lad believes all he reads in the newspaper...
Sure a star in the making, will mature and grow and most likely be the consistent player, Broncos are screaming out for.

Something that the Broncos have exhibited since the GF loss a couple years ago now. There is flaw in their mental capicity to work as a team for 80 minutes. They got the players. For mine, it is in their head!!! Not sure they want it. Too busy reading / listening how good they are...
If Madge can figure out how to harness their defensive and attacking strengths over the next umpteen rounds and into the finals... rcw1 will shake the man by the hand...
Dunno if the lads got it. Not sure.

rabbits v bronco ... should be a cracker
great win this evening (09/05/25) for the Gold Coast 24 beating Newcastle 20 who blew 20 point 1st half lead ....
It does seem a coaching trend now that when a team leads by 12 or more they go into cruise mode.
Cronulla do it a lot, they play classy footy, get a lead then go to sleep.
I have noticed most of the also ran teams do it, Melbourne and Penrith don't do it but the Knights seem to have done it tonight.
Last night Parra lead by 6 and they changed their style of play completely, this allowed the Dolphins to regroup and get the win.
Parra only started to play again after the Dolphins were in front which was too late.
