Hey everyone..... :D ....this is my virgin posting on aussie stock forums......I could certainly use any and all positive feedback about trading and do's and don'ts........many thanks.

welcome to the forum! the search function should be of great help, usually threads with lots of views tends to have something useful in them :p:

DO take ur time, invest with caution, use stop losses and DONT get upset when the market head south! ;) good luck!

Hello Linz and welcome,

Your post is rather vague. Many books have been written in response to your "do's and don'ts" question.

Perhaps if you were to describe your goals, whether you want to day trade or invest over a longer term, and provide some idea of initial available capital, what you feel your risk profile is etc., then some members should be able to help.

Please excuse my delay in replying. I was just as new as you to trading and investing when you posted so I thought I would wait some time before offering my tuppence worth.

I believe matti_pacman's post sums it up best, although I do not always stick with it.

What's that, is that English?
I'm guessing some measure of Tupperware perhaps? ???
My apologies, in my peripatetic youth I spent some months in the fleshpots and inns of Manchester UK, including but not confined to Tommy Ducks and The Conti Club

I did pick up some of their peculiar take on English and patois and can even watch a show on the television called Coronation St. without the need for subtitles.

Tuppence was two pennies, similar to cents. They were good times, but I left because it was difficult to find good servants.
