Moving stock between brokers

is it possible to move my current shares held in a stgeorge directshares account, along with 5k into a commsec chess sponsored direct investment account? which i will be setting up shortly.

reason being, my dad set me up with a directshares account linked to his main one, but the brokerage is like $32.95 including gst.

yes that is possible as long as the names on the broking accounts with StGeorge and Comsec are exactly the same.

I would advise you to look at Interactive Brokers as your broker, because they charge 0.8% of your trade with a minimum of $6.
So a $ 7,500 trade would cost you only $6.
