It's Raining

24 hour period of 9am to 9am just a miserable 14.5 mm and of that 8.6mm fell before I hit the Slumber King last night.

I haven't got a rain gauge, but it feels like we got more than that down in the valley, still no flow at Bells Rapids, but will be interesting to watch over the next couple of days.

@wayneL It would appear that the forecast deluge is more coastal to the Scarp and South West.
Mate in York says a little boy pizzing in the wind has put more on the ground than the Heavens.

The erstwhile BOM forecasters must be the only employees in this country that can keep their jobs even if the daily forecast they provide is way off beam.
A small amount of rain and wind and so far that's about it.

According to BOM we've had 34mm in the last 24 hours down here in the valley. Nice

Our BOM reading 32.5mm but I just tipped out 35mm, main home tank is now 2/3 full, looking a lot better than a couple of days ago.

It will be interesting to see if the forecast by BOM today matches up with yesterday's effort.
Most of the rain fell after dark, not complaining.
Today's forecast of 4-20mm waits to be seen.

Not too much joy in heading outside at present.
Quite cold and very damp.
Sitting by the wood fire is so much more appealing with a hot mug of coffee.

With a forecast of very strong wind with 100k gust and some relatively serious rainfall for today, I was thankful to be able to be indoors from lunchtime today.
To date some drizzle and a few gusts, but nothing to get excited about.
BOM keeps sending dire warnings, so I guess one of these will have to be correct in the next 36 hours.

It would appear that the current BOM warning is actually correct.
We can't see the paddock at the back of the abode and its fence line is only 25 meters away.
Looks as if some decent rain will be falling for the next hour or so.

Well as it has turned out the rain/drizzle has persisted for several hours and the amount shown on the BOM site for our areas is currently 16mm. Looking good for the dams, creeks and Noble Falls, which was down to a trickle only recently

I have been trying to get outside for a while now to check the rain gauge.
Persistent showers and rain.
.Not complaining, just would like to see what the last 24 hours has delivered.
The smart phone which is not that accurate has us at about 24 mm to 9am

Finally a little bit of white water at Bell's Rapids.

First of all it was dark at around 3pm, then rain started to fall followed by hail. It between the rain and the hail, some power lines came down and started a house fire a few streets away from me. His next trick will be pestilence.

After venturing outside and checking the rain gauge I tipped out 45mm.
The best rain event we have had for quite some time.
The upside of this is that the rain has not stopped. I just made it back inside before the next lot started.
The main house tank is not too far from overflowing and should reach that point sometime this afternoon.
I am now confident that that farm dams will be overflowing and the creeks running.

Well, it's been a fun day listening to and watching wind and rain.
So on Drs orders time to partake of an arvo kip.

I have spent most of the day trying to stay dry, but a small price to pay for some decent rain. Bring it on!

Excellent news for WA farmers

Saw the WA trots on Sky at the club, the infield was full of water so I was hoping you guys had got that as well
