I hear tell that many foreign stocks are outperforming Australian stocks over the course of the year. Any ideas whether this will continue and some good starting points for foreign investments (which stock exchanges for instance, what types of stocks).
Also can anyone comment on how useful they find the consensus recommendations (based on 3 independent analysists apparently ) at https://research.comsec.com.au/TradingIdeas ?
Cheers
Steve

The grass is always greener on the other side

these are just commentators I bet you if they ever invest oversea they will be behind.
it is always exotic to use big international name like Google, J&J, Coke and people think
these guys are the real expert :)

you can make a lot of money in any market here/oversea it matters little for retail investor with a few million bucks

what and how you invest in the market is more important than which market you in and I say that for
US Australia and Euro market .... :D

Without making specific comments on any particular analysts, I do encourage skepticism about any claims made by any proclaimed "experts" in any field of endeavour until such time as their expertise is substantiated with evidence.

As for foreign markets, sometimes the grass truly is greener elsewhere! Just ask yourself which of the major world stock indices failed to achieve a record breaking high this year!

Of course it is important to bear in mind the stimulatory effects of easy monetary policy (ZIRP, various rounds of QE etc.) which were, almost undoubtedly, essential contributing factors to the achievement of these record highs overseas.

P.S. ROE, it's great to see that you're enjoying opportunites locally, personally I am experiencing greater ease of trading with European markets at present. Horses for courses (or is that coursers?) of course!

Many on here trade oversea market and make money and I don't doubt their knowledge and know how..

I don't think retail investor with small amount of capital and less experience doing them any good venturing oversea just because someone said oversea market out perform Aussie market etc...
