Election 2025 + Preferential Voting

Pretty scary (to me) that The Greens might form government with Labor at this election.

If an Australian election was held today, the opinion polls say the most likely outcome would be a joint ALP/Greens government. The Greens have policies outside the environment which will transform business in Australia and almost certainly cause a big fall in the sharemarket.

For example, one of their policies involves extending an ALP signature policy, taxing unrealised capital gains, deeper into superannuation — and beyond the superannuation arena — which is exactly what Treasury wants.

The Greens in recent times have moved from their traditional environmental platform into the Middle East/terror issues, which have cost them support.

But, they also have domestic social policies, including: free medical and dental services; lower mortgage interest rates; abolition of fees on state schools; a cap of 50c on public transport rides; abolition of student debt, and many others.

The only way the government could get worse, just add greens. Surely Labor remembers the last time they made that mistake. I don't want those retards in power. They are like a shotgun across issues and are full of head cases.

Interesting side note, when I tried to post this on chrome, it wouldn't post, it said server down.

So I posted it through the Duck Duck go browser no problems, interesting?

I'm tipping a ALP-Green coalition as a result which is going to be disaster for our country. At least for the next 3 years by which time I hope the people wake up to the far Left ideology of the Greens.

A minority government forced into a pact with the Greens or the teals would set the economy up for disaster and consign Australia to three years of inaction on the critical issues of productivity, housing and living standards, business leaders say.

Flight Centre managing director Graham Turner dreaded a minority government influenced by the Greens, which he described as “a radical left rather than an environmental and sustainability focused party”.

“It would be a disaster for business in Australia,” said Mr Turner, whose wealth is estimated at $642m on the Richest 250 list and whose family privately funds a conservation trust. “A real issue would be a minority Labor/Green and maybe teal versus a LNP/teal minority government.”

Polls suggest a minority government is the most likely outcome of the May federal election, with neither Labor nor the Coalition looking like they would secure enough votes to form government alone. Labor sealed a slim majority in the 2022 federal election.

"The iron law at this election is that where competition for cheap fuel is most intense, Dutton’s stocks increase. At least a half-dozen NSW and Victorian seats, which the Coalition has never held before, are now in play."

....

It reminds me of the Gillard vs Abbott election. Hard to believe it's 15 years ago.
Too many people forget how bad the greens are.

If there is a minority government I would hope it would be made with a teal or two.
