Came across a company that is producing (it says) cold fusion power units that will form the basis of a cheap, non polluting energy source. They say they will have a 1 mw power station in production in October.

This would indeed be a game changer if it is as real and cost effective as it appears.

Re: Cold fusion power station by Christmas.

This can't be good news for those noted philanthropes, the coal companies. :

Re: Cold fusion power station by Christmas.

Yes one could certainly see see a decline in the multitudinous acts of random kindness rained upon our populations by Peabody and co.

It will be absolutely fascinating to see if this is for real. From my experience all of these stories of cheap, unlimited energy have proven a scam. But there actually is some theoretical scientific backing for the concept and October is only a few months away.

Re: Cold fusion power station by Christmas.

Good find Basilio. Quite simply, cold fusion is the answer. It will sweep all other alternatives aside. Almost unlimited energy, requiring tiny raw material input, and no waste product to worry about.

In terms of a 1mW plant in production October, I'll believe it when I see it, but no matter, Andrea Rossi is keeping it on the agenda and that's good.

Re: Cold fusion power station by Christmas.

let's follow this up;
would be great news

Re: Cold fusion power station by Christmas.

i have read alot about a WWII vintage german inventor, victor schauberger, who was known for his advanced research on the power of water as an energy source and his advanced design of an implosion based engine , his discoveries bordered on cold fusion apparently and when germany lost the war both the allies and the russians were desperate to gain his research,
the story goes that the yanks go to him first, flew him and his son to the US, interrogated him on his research, forced him to sign over all his plans, knowledge and research to them, then promptly buried it because of its potential impact on the oil industry (stinks of a standard oil scam to me)
after tying him up tight in red tape he returned to germany a broken man and died 5 days later (some say with 'help'). i read that his son was attempting to continue his dads work somewhere in europe 'under the radar' of the americans, who he blamed for the death of his father.
i wonder if its connected with this cold fusion power station??

Perhaps Christmas is coming early. Andrea Rossie 1MW e-cat power station seems to be successful. The first commercial trial has worked and apparently the backers have signed up on the technology.

Could be many implications for other energy technologies.

How long would it take to accept and commercialize a radical new technology like cold fusion ?

Did you know that it took 5 years for the Wright Brothers to actually convince the world they had flown ? The first flight of the Kitty Hawk was in 1903. Despite many observers and many more public flights governments and scientists refused to believe that man made heavier than air machines could exist.

It took until August 1908 for governments to recognise reality.

Suppose, Christmas does have an air of magic & mystery about it.

Oh Oh, an everlasting handwarmer please Santa

Well I went and did a bit of research on this claim of cold fusion and it just looks like YET another over unity scam.

So these guys doing the tests are saying they can defeat the laws of physic's ?

For a bit of a laugh I put a link from this topic into a RE IRC forum and near got painted an over unity freak. Even saying this was all in jest wasn't enough and it does look like I've now painted myself as an over unity freak just for posting a link.

I did look at a you tube video of that Vicktor guy and what a paintshop job they did to do those flying saucers.

Something of this nature is designed to scam what ever money they can and THAT will be the reason they are doing this scam in private....

There has been many claims in the past that have skimmed $$$$ out of investors so I would suggest everyone be wary of any claims they put forward.

Regards Bryan

P.S. I haven't done many posts on this forum and I don't own any shares, but I will say HGO will soon go right up once they start producing. How do I know that I live 3K away from that mine and I am still trying to get a job with them...

Hi Byran . Welcome to ASF.

I can understand the reticence about this cold fusion claim but perhaps you should separate Andrea Rossis achievements from others in your research.

There are many energy scams around certainly but Andrea Rossi has taken no money and went from small scale units to a full 1MW power plant with his own cash. That is a very long con (if it is..)

I have reserved judgment on this story until it is totally proven. After reading the results of the initial test I'm still not completely convinced. But then many new projects have engineering teething problems. Just part of the territory.

I included the reference to the Wright brothers first flight specifically to address your concern. They did fly in 1903. They did it again many times with hundreds of people seeing it. Yet for the next 5 years scientists were still absolutely certain that heavier than air flight was impossible and wrote papers in Scientific American on those lines.

The URLs in my story are worth following. This may well be a new technology and scientific field that does bear fruit,

Watch this guy. His device produced 470kwh of energy, but sitting next to it in a container was a 500kwh generator, needed in order to get his device started. Odd thing is, the 500kwh generator kept running for the entire duration of the test. He says the generator didn't provide any of the 470kwh after the initial start. But run it did. (presumably they just kept running it in order to enjoy the sound and aroma of a large diesel generator). "Never mind that man behind the curtain".

I noticed that too Waimate1. That was why I have reserved my judgment as well.

There was some very careful independent analysis of the test which seemed to show a large surplus of energy. I'm prepared to wait and see for the moment.

Iwas reading in New Scientist that the Euro fusion plant will be ready fortrial in a few years but two different groups are using different technologies to try to achieve it for less capital and smaller size. There is money going into this but still extremely experimental but a breakthrough could happen.

So, its nearly 13 years since this breakhtough technology was touted as being the game changer/holy grail/disruptive technolgy.
Obvously, the gran hopes never came to fruition.
And there have been many grand hopes dashed since Pons and Fleiscman lit up the scietific world back in 1989.
Now a new one has surfaced,
From Coin Telegraph

So it has been peer reviewed and more importantly, others have been able to replicate the results
Now the issue whether they can scale it up to a de ent sized output.
Mick

If his device works, I fear for his personal safety.

So many others like him have found an early demise.

And make it stable enough to last more than a few microseconds.
Long way to go.

Blast from the past indeed ! I had forgotten about Andreas Rossi 1 MW cheap as chips power station. I remember seeing so many stories that "seemed" to suggest it was real. And of course reality is a working commercial unit.

I just did a check to see what happened to the Ecat. He is still "developing" and spruiking his invention ! What cajones.

Having said that all the references come from the Limitless energy website. DYOR.

Of course it is for sale.
