Can you make money investing in watches?

When I see a celeb. spruiking a watch or a brand, it certainly doesn't make go,"...wow, wish or gotta get me one of those!"
I simply think, good on 'em, they have the the disposable readies for (or gifted) trinkets that appeal to them.
