BBUS - BetaShares U.S. Equities Strong Bear Hedge Fund

I've never shorted before but having an etf do it for me is certainly attractive. This is a 3 year monthly chart. From what @mullokintyre hints I believe he may be in it.

A 6.86% gain on Friday is not to be sneezed at for BBUS. I certainly won't be buying any traditional stocks.

I've bought and sold this a few times but always lost on the bet. I had a finger on the trigger on Friday and froze because I just don't like buying anything on a Friday. Probably would have been lucrative to bet on this or BBOZ but who is to know? It's mad out there.

I've reached the same opinion. It's too late to buy the inverse ETFs now. Should have been done last week and even earlier. (Onya MIck).
I can't find any individual stocks to buy as the downside risks are unknown. If would be different if I was a long term investor but I'm not.
Like Sean I've bought BBOZ and BBUS a few times and have lost each time too. Buying too late is certainly a fault.
Yes, It's mad out there.

Note: It would be much easier to trade these inverse ETFs if they were available 23/5. IE. tradable most of the day. Then we could take advantage of the changing market sentiment overnight Aussie time.

just remember you are holding a 'hot potato ' be ready to exit quickly ( or as i did when in sufficient profit , the first time)

i went back for a second ride in very late March 2020 bought a small parcel and held on for too long ( thinking a second big leg down ) and wiped out 85% of that capital

the first ride was great , the second ride not so great , my bad , but learn from my error and just be careful , please ,

the time to buy this was around the recent record highs ,( but hind-sight always makes the strategy look easy ) a little too early is not so bad if you buy in manageable parcels ( you can add more cheaper ) , but then i really love selling into rallies ( rather after the top has peaked )

when buying in a downtrend look for stocks that will survive a full-on crash , either because they are a great well-run company OR the Government will bail them out because the government depends on them ( say like TLS )

the second option might suit you better
