Hi guys, I really know nothing about derivatives trading. I've been investing in stocks for quite a number of years and thought I should find out more about derivatives. Could anyone tell me if there is some sort of affordable online platform where I could view market prices and characteristics of lots of options, just like one can do with equities? Thank you!

Hi Ahmisk
in my opinion lots of options= lots of confusion, dont like forex either.
have a look at the local spi market and see what you think. you only have
to watch on thing and its on the move 98% of the time ,
i have both the ib platform
and the cqg platform which is through bell potter
both are about $50-60.00 per month

The slippage on trading the SPI is still rather high, the option market is very weak and the weekly market is very thin.
Also - its trading range is tiny - and gaps all over the place which also is a pain in the arse - better cheaper options out there if you ask me. Euro markets are a start and so is the Hong Kong market.
