The reason I didn't post my ACDC position in this thread is that I haven't done any research into the ETF. I don't know what it holds and which companies are it's largest holdings. I'm trading ACDC using the price charts.

If one is going to invest or trade a thematic ETF like ACDC it may be important to know what's under the hood. Which countries or companies present the biggest risks for this ETF? Will the price of ACDC be affected by AUDUSD movement?

From my perspective, this purchase of ACDC is about six months too late for a medium term trade or longer term investment. Currently the reward:risk is not in my favour. However I can handle this RR situation whereas others looking in and contemplating doing the same may not.

I will be keeping an eye on the US lithium ETF - LIT. LIT is not yet ready for a medium term trade. When LIT goes above 62 I'll be onto it.
I see @over9k is all over LIT as well.

ps: This post suggests doing your own research into ACDC because I know nothing about it.

Obviously a lot of geopolitics etc behind all of this. Biden's been 3x as hawkish 3x as quickly on China as anyone was expecting and that's not going to change. AU is an incredibly strong U.S ally though.

In short, AU & U.S producers are a very solid bet IMO

ACDC construction started with equal weighting of companies (not by market cap). Currently holds 31 companies with two ASX companies PLS and GXY holding approx 11% atm. I'm bullish on both of these atm. AUD base currency, not hedged.

That explains today's dip in price but I've been unable to source any further details about the distribution, even from their website.

Edit: found some details from Commsec. I assume part of the distribution is a return of capital. Sale of ORE perhaps?
 
Nah it's an ETF and they're fully unfranked so it's returning shareholder equity to the holders (so to speak).

My other betashares holdings did the same today. I had a brief moment of panic when I saw how much they sold off too.
 
The homepage of the ETF doesn't have info, so it's
A) pointless to blame secondary sources
B) a waiting game until published
C) curious.

There's data sources and then there's incompetent data sources... I regularly see incorrect data on the ASX website...

If Google knows, it's been published.... somewhere.

It's literally no where to be found in the Westpac app... clearly "there are no announcements"

It has the red alarm bell indicating an announcement today though...

Decimal places shown on XVI are out by 2 as well.

For many if these ETF’s the announcement is made on 29 or 30 June and XD on 30 June or 1 July. ( I have many beta shares, etf securities and BlackRock ETF’s)
The ASX website had the info from the ETF’s today that announced yesterday (29th).
Not the brokers fault I think just the ETF manages release of information.
