I am a new guy in this game.
Every time when I start to do my research of certain shares, I figure out "Initial Director's interest notice" always catches my eyes.

What's this notice for?

Thanks

When a new company director is appointed in an ASX listed company, an announcement is made by the company that details his or her relevant interests in the company's securities. This can include ordinary shares as well as listed or unlisted options and not only includes direct holdings but also indirect interests such as shares held by spouses and discretionary trusts or other investment vehicles etc.

Directors - old and new - are obliged to keep the Market informed about the amount of "skin in the game". Whether they are indirect beneficiaries or direct owners in their own right doesn't matter. If you're interested in details, check out directors' obligations:
http://asic.gov.au/for-business/run...ut-directors-interests-in-company-securities/

You will find that they are restricted from trading during certain times, to avoid allegations of insider trading. They also must notify the Market within days when their interest changes because they sold, converted, or acquired an interest in the company. Check for Director Interest notices.
