My ham sandwich I just had for lunch. Fresh baked sourdough from the bakery up the road, honey smoked ham from the butcher, a mild cheddar (I don't care much for strong cheeses) and wholegrain mustard. Washed down with some of Bundaberg's finest ginger beer.

Ahh the simple pleasures of life.:D

lol...when in Singapore recently i really struggled with hitting a good meal. Then o nthe last day we went to Sentosa and i had an all day breakfast special and a beer....Eggs Benedict with real thick sliced ham off the bone...

Man was that good....

Ham and Cheese is my old standby...:xyxthumbs

Really?? I know you probably get asian food all the time, but i have had so many amazing meals (both street and high end) in Singapore. I can barely think of an average one

I know..unreal isn't it? Can't figure out where we went wrong...mind you we were usually busy until dinner time, hungry and settling for the food courts in the local area so its no wonder we struggled.

Some quality chocholate is a weakness of mine. The odd piece that works out to be like $70-80 a kg but the way it melts and flavour is oh so worth it.

After a real crap day at work I like to come home and get out the good 18 yr old scotch, pour a liberal amount over some whiskey stones and slowly sip as I let go of the stress :D

Place near me sells plain sandwiches and rolls -

Nothing fancy,

Ham, chees and tomato sandwiches

Egg and lettuce

Salad rolls.

Makes a nice change from the half kilo wraps they sell elsewhere.

When it's in peak season, a large plate of thick asparagus spears, liberally coated with butter and salt.

An oozy piece of brie or camembert with a smear of honey.

But above anything, freshly opened Pacific oysters.

Hint -

Cut off the portion of cheese you want and put it in microwave for a few seconds, 5 maybe ?

Lovely and oozy.

hmmm, Oysters...love Tassie Oysters with just a dash of lemon, or completely on their own.

Yes Boggo, good to see they still work though...

Burnsy, imagine if the first one was a bad one...

Took me years to recover from the bad oyster i had once...

Yeah!!!

English Ale, 'specially Badger First Gold.

German Bratwurst with saurkraut and fair dinkum German mustard.

....and just a decent meat pie with crusty pastry.

Yeah the simple pleasures. :xyxthumbs

We have a Dad's club at the local school.
I'm going tonight to enjoy Oktoberfest. Just like you said Wayne, Bratwurst, sauerkraut, German and Australian Beers. Will walk home:)
