Share Consolidation: Kiss of Death?

Re: Share Consolidation

Is a consolidation the Kiss of Death?

No.

Some examples of conslidations that are doing just fine.

CQR, IOF, GMG

Some not doing so good.

NWT, CSR, PGA, HST

Just off the top of my head.

But in any case, consolidation has nothing to do with it. Some were already dying before consolidation.

If a consolidation occurs under a new management, I see it as a positive.

If the same guys are consolidating, in the majority of cases they are covering their own @sses and you can bet a cap raise is around the corner.

Talking as someone who watches the speculative end of the market, of course.

I jumped out of (RRL) Regis. When I last looked they were fine.
Also (AOH) Altona.
But I was trapped recently by (PRE) Pacrim.
So I am a very bad guesser!

Nothing wrong with consolidation as long as there's nothing wrong with the business.

Consolidating good = good consolidated

Consolidating crap = crap consolidated

:)

Really? You should have told the Spanish government when they "consolidated" 7 banks to form Bankia... :D

And they wonder why it is falling over... (actual photo of bankia headquarters from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bankia)
