The best Wii Remote Hack Ever! Amazing footage, must see!

wow that is great, it will be good to see how the gaming industry incorporates this.

And going by what he has done, it must mean that the wii sensor bar doesn't 'sense' at all, it must just be a couple of IR sources that the wii remote uses to orient itself with the bar and thus the tv in use. That is pretty crazy in itself.

There sure are some smart people out there.

Smart Guy,... I just hope he is making a fair amount of money from his ideas and not just making other people rich

It's an open source project, so he is giving out all his ideas away for free, including the software and its source code. He wanted to help the teachers in less developed countries to take advantage of such low cost technologies. Such a generous guy.

But when his ideas are used by companies such as EA GAMES to make millions of dollars i think he should make some money,... I mean he has to eat, and having a $100k in the bank would probally alow him time to come up with many more ideas.

Doesn't open source just mean it's free for certain types of use - ie you can't take the code and incorporate it into a product that you charge for?

EA are including it in one of their games as an 'Easter Egg' feature with his permission - a gimmick and probably a savy business move on his behalf.

Yes, that is how it works. You can also use 2 candles instead of the sensor bar :p: Or 2 remote controls with their buttons pushed in
