Rugby League

What are the chances of the NRL admin or the refs screwing up the finals this year????
Exceedingly likely IMO

They are so inconsistent from game to game within the same round that no one knows what the rules are anymore

Liam Martin was not game to tackle a player because he was not sure what the ref would do and Canberra fluked the try to win the game.

That game was decided by the crazy rules that Now apply to someone catching the ball.

If a player jumps for the ball, flies through the air and lands on top of a player standing still on the ground the player on the ground gets penalised for being there.

How crazy is that :banghead:

Teflon Payten ...
The Cowboys have embarked on a cleanout of their football department with Payten’s coaching unit being overhauled following their 2025 failed finals bid ... again ... this season.

Payten’s right-hand men Justin Morgan and Ben Rauter have been moved on, while a third assistant, Steve Sheppard, will be redeployed in another role at the Cowboys.

Hmmm looks to be same same in 2026. Payten's lieutenants this time taking a bullet with Payten surviving another year.

Oh well, see that 2026 brings rcw1 beloved RL team. Will be at the game on Saturday - Cowboys v Broncos ... should be bottler. Bookies presently have the Cowboys $2.30 head-to-head with Broncos at $1.62

Kind regards

Nawaqanitawse what a great game...

Roosters have blown the Storm away in the second half. Simply to many errors by the Storm. Bellamy will have close to his best team on the paddock next week, notwithstanding this, he would be displeased with their performance tonight.

Cowboys went down to the Broncos ): Did see a few forward passes even from where rcw1 was …. !!

We have a top eight.
Raiders
Storm
Bulldogs
Broncos
Sharks
Warriors
Roosters
Panthers

Looking back to the Rugby League lovers picks at the start of March:
Macca 6
Ferret 6
RCW1 5
Macquack 5
UMike 5

All pretty close and none of us picked the minor premiers, the Raiders.

Whose going to win it from here?
I'm picking the Storm.

I think this is the year for the top four to fail, I would go for either Roosters or Penrith.

The draw may mean that they meet before the GF but if one of them is in the GF then I tip them

Reckon Raiders v Storm grand final if possible ...

Storm v Dogs @ AAMI Park, Melbourne 7.50pm 12/09/25 - tipping storm;
Warriors V Panthers @ Go Media Stadium, Auckland 4.05pm 13/09/25 - tipping Warriors (Elimination Final)
Sharks v Roosters @ Sharks Stadium, Sydney 7.50pm 13/09/25 - tipping Roosters (Elimination Final)
Raiders v Broncos @ GIO Stadium, Canberra 4.05pm 14/09/25 - tip closer to game day. Interested whether or not Papalii will be playing

Bring it on !!!

Really interested in how Lachlan Galvin goes on Friday against the Storm. Very serious consequences moving forward for the kid if he fails in the big game. Storm won't miss him... Hope he don't get himself mentally scarred ... be awful. Certainly, Galvin is a talent, but this talent needs to be nurtured, not sure that this is the case.

Well the Dogs failed last night...
Storm better equipped for them big games. Having said all his there were times it could have gone either way.

Big on today's battles, cannot wait.
EDIT: The dogs messing with a winning formula ... what the puck were they thinking....??

Yea neither team Won it but the Storm refused to lose it.

Dogs out in straight sets...... Getting Galvin wasn't the problem but rushing him in was.

Raiders Broncs a KEY game.

Dunno how you can pick woarriors.... Almost prepared to tip a Panthers/storm GF.

Galvin was a star at the wooden spoon West Tigers, but at the Bulldogs he looks like Joe Average.

Yeah was always gunna take some time not only because of his youth but also being the number 7 at a new club at the wrong time of the year ... there was argument to slowly blood him into first grade after some time in NSW Cup. Galvin was always going to be a 2026/27 proposition.

Yep reckon so too

Believe the Panthers run will come to an end, in NZ against the Warriors. Sure Panthers coming good at the right end of the year, but thinking the Warriors at home will be too strong a team to knock off.

With Critter out next week I would think they keep their "half" at half, put the kid in as 5/8 with a half to look after him and leave Burton in the centres

Would be a reasonable team

Panthers were lucky but too good, Canterbury next week I think, should be a good game.

Now that they have a halfback again, Canterbury will stretch Penrith all the way

yep ... good'n ... wish he ref would stick his whistle right up his arse and let the players get on with it
