other then hitting the casino, i am curious to what people do in the mean time. i have a high income and low cost of living at the moment and would like to know what i can do in the mean time before i make $20k+ size investments.

Ever heard of a bank account?

Find the highest interest rate possible with sufficient access for your needs and put it in there

Invest in well run business and collect dividend or pay off your mortgage if you have one.
