It's absolutely losing, not winning.


The people we disagree with are the ones we most need to interact with, and if we have any conviction at all in our beliefs and views, the people we should most want to have exposure to us are the ones who disagree with us.


The existence of a two way block is a testament to how terrible society has become and how severely people have come to fail to understand how a society should function. It serves to coddle minds so fragile they can not cope with taking part in open discussion with the public, and those incapable of simply paying no undue attention to people they don't want to pay attention to.


I have blocked a total of zero people here (or across the road etc), and while there may be rare times a one-way block may be worth using (someone relentlessly inboxing you for example), a two-way block is anti community, cowardly and pathetic.
