Is there any credibility in my observation that some stocks always seem to perform better at certain times of day. On average.
If this is a known phenomenon, and not a transitory observation, then what would be behind this? Is this time of day phenomenon something other traders take into account when day trading?

Cheers

Hard to know, but i have been lamenting lately that for months, my small caps portfolio, at least till february where i was checking it, was regularly always 1% higher at open than close..irrespective of win or loss.
I mean:
So +2% at open closing at +1% on good days
And staring flat and closing at -1% on negative days

Obviously not always these figures but i would say 75% of days, keeping this 1% or more difference between open/11am early session to close.

I interpreted this as big boys getting out of the market with morning manipulation but not sure really

Yes and no, it's your observation.
If you find a niche or an edge that can be exploited, great.

Just remember, the niche/edge might be someone else's bait, or a phenomenon to exploit.
Don't get greedy though...

I do have a few clues behind what causes this, but, you know the old saying....if I told you, then I'd have to ...

Iguana Spark have a tool to help validate timings in this regard, if that helps at all..
