A bit of family happiness and joy.
Youngest son finally gave his partner of some years a gold ring recently.
Rather than spend huge on a lavish wedding they decided to keep it simple and not have any of the hoo-har and large payment bills that go with it.
Instead tonight most of the family were able to gather for a very enjoyable meal at an eating house in Midland, before they embarked on a 3 week trip/honeymoon to Japan.
just about to board their aircraft now for a midnight flight.
A long trip of about 15 hours.
 
I bought a newspaper today. $5.80

I liked the tactile nature of it, but it was filled of ads. the articles were bland, prolix, predictable,.

There was an 8-page lift out for the nags.

I don't know who would buy this, on an regular basis. A mere shadow of the C20th content.

I did the crossword(s)
 
So it was worth buying after all.
 
While being blocked for an unknown time frame by Cap't C-Weed I feel that I must be missing out on the pearls of wisdom that he is espousing.
Then I realised that I was sleeping at the desk and came back to reality when I awoke from this slumber.
