Legalise cannabis i say... its a totally natural product... nothing wrong with it if used sensibly.
unlike the other drugs like ice, e, cocaine, etc... which is un-natural and man made... weed is just harmless good fun...
i say smoke weed before a root - it'll enhance the experience... and maybe afterwards, a stiff drink to relax and chill out...
LOL; would be interesting to do a further study to find out if both of their personalities smoke or only one of themOn a further killjoy note smoking Nicotine can be classified as "Substance Abuse Disorder" under DSM IV, and that up to 90% of people suffering schizophrenia use nicotine
no strong view either way BUT
as I understand, it stays detectable in your system for days to weeks.
this has very serious implications in respect of roadside drug testing (also workplace testing)
does anyone know what is the situation regarding testing thresholds, as I the implications of having an accident and returning a positive test are not at all good, and especially annoying if the cannabis was ingested a considerable time before, and had no adverse impact on driving.
I personally know a senior manager that failed a workplace test (for one of the big 2 miners), and he swore he hadnt had a smoke for at least 48 hrs
( his underlings were beside themselves with amusement).

In regards to how long it stays in your system, it depends on quite a few factors, such as how active you are, your body size and how often you smoke. For a one off use by an average person they should be able to pass a standard drug urine test in 48-72 hours. But there are no guarantees as we are all different. The more you use it, the longer it will stay in your system. I had read somewhere recently that it can be detected up to 12 weeks after last use if you are a chronic user. A saliva test shows up very recent use only, and a blood test will show similar, but over a slightly longer timeframe(less than a urine test though). And if you are getting a hair test done, then you are screwed no matter how often you smoke!
Testing thresholds: standard screening level for THC is 50 ng/ml.

Heaven is where the police are British, the cooks are French, the
mechanics German, the lovers Italian and it's all organised by the
Swiss. Hell is where the chefs are British, the mechanics French, the
lover's Swiss, the police German and it's all organised by the Italians.

I believe smoking cigarettes should be encouraged after an enjoyable root and when enjoying a beer in good company.
I further believe it should be encouraged after a good breakfast of hash browns, bacon, egg, snags, tomatoes and baked beans.
Also it should be encouraged in individual circumstances where a heightened sensation can be achieved by the addition of a quick fix of nicotine.
It is also sensible to have a smoke when danger has been averted, in war, after car and train smashes and when a missus or husband turns feral.
I realise many wowsers will disagree , but this is my opinion.
gg
Garpal, I understand all what you have said, and I agree with all of it, but I must say for the younger viewers: In order to achieve this status, and enjoy all the above, you have to find a balance!
How amusing this thread!
Fitness is really the best contribution to the most enduring quality of life possible, albeit, you have to enjoy it on the way!
And those that don't smoke should get an RDO each month for all the time Smokers have off standing on the street. And I would like people who smoke to pay a higher medicare levy!

LOL GG.
Costs to Society
In 2002, a report estimated the cost of tobacco use in Australia as $21.06 billion.3 These costs included:
loss of production or lost earnings due to illness and death,
health care costs,
loss of consumption due to illness and death.
Some costs are more difficult to quantify and may not be included. These include:
passive smoking costs,
welfare costs,
absenteeism,
ambulance services,
property costs of accidental fires.
pain and suffering of the sick and those around them.
The study estimated the gross costs in Australia of treating major diseases attributable to smoking to be around $2.25 billion.
Results from a recent study published in the Medical Journal of Australia predict a one percent drop in smoking prevalence could save about $20.4 million in health care costs.4
If that were the case, wouldn't you also have to apply the same levy to people who eat a lot of junk food, fail to exercise, drink excessive alcohol etc?And I would like people who smoke to pay a higher medicare levy!

"Are you saying "snuff," Walt? What's snuff?
You take a pinch of tobacco (starts giggling) and you shove it up your nose! And it makes you sneeze, huh. I imagine it would, Walt, yeah.
Goldenrod seems to do it pretty well over here.
It has some other uses, though. You can chew it? Or put it in a pipe. Or you can shred it up and put it on a piece of paper, and roll it up - don't tell me, Walt, don't tell me- you stick in your ear, right Walt?
Oh, between your lips! Then what do you do to it? (Giggling) You set fire to it! Then what do you do Walt? You inhale the smoke!
Walt, we've been a little worried about you...you're gonna have a tough time getting people to stick burning leaves in their mouth...."
