Saxo Australian retail users are being moved to a new Totality platform
The go live was yesterday and it is a total nightmare.Am i the only one to have used Saxo and in the middle of this.
What are the alternative?
With saxo, i had access to all markets multiple currencies accounts
Asx trades were $3.3 aud, most of US trades in the $1 or $2 usd.not using option there but they were available
The existing platform app was very good and fast on the smartphone
Old Platform still alive but i am planning to get out asap
Any recommended alternative,?
I tried IB, had a problem in the initial setup and my support request has not been answered in the last..3 years.. so no way

Hmm I didn't think Saxo was still around out here. If you want to trade Aus and US then IB probably your only affordable option. If you only want US then you will probably have a few more options.
I use IB and have never really had a problem. When the ASX decided to stop retail trading options in the first half hour I shot an email to IB for clarity and they got back to me within 24hrs. I think there are faster options though to contact them.

I enjoyed asx trading for $3.3 a trade but i can live with belldirect $10 for ASX plays
They might even be cheaper for smaller amounts
I have no trust after that basic experience in IB, i know many use IB and are happy, i think Tech/a, Peter are a big fan etc

So basically my search is for an international trades broker, not so much options, with currency accounts embedded so that i can have euros trades, Canadian, US, UK..and a great app.
Mostly US market and ideally from time to time others .

I never know exactly which broker people use when they use IB.

I use Interactive brokers IBKR. They are fantastic but intolerant of silly thumb mistakes. Once you learn how to use them htey are the best imo. IBKR.

AFAIK there is only one. There is an Interactive Brokers Australia but that is just a name. But to answer your question yes.

Have to give them another go, will limit exposure anyway as i believe you do not technically own your shares..no chess ifvi remember
Thanks for the input so far.
Might also look at the new entrants as well.our robinhoods and cie
Do you have any referral system with IB i could quote and get a you some credits or whatever?

Unfortunately not. IBKR.com is on a strictly need to know basis. There is a Sydney office for phone enquiries. It is quite a large organisation handling international funds and banks as well as folk such as us. They are definitely unhelpful at the beginning as all the info to navigate is there if you bother to read it. I'm a Jeremy Clarkson so it took me a while to catch on. I just use the phone now with them as it's easier for me to navigate online. They have an app called IBKR desktop which would be good for options, futures, shorting and forex but I don't trade these. Offer appreciated.
