Hi all,

Hoping someone can provide some assistance on (specifically) the tax implications on investing in the ASX as a (Australian citizen, but recently) NZ resident?

- I believe if I receive dividends I won't be eligible for the imputation benefits is that correct?
- Who takes my taxes for any income earned off ASX (AU)?
-- Does that mean I need to complete a AU tax return?

Look forward to the responses. I've done quite a bit of searching on the net and haven't been really able to find anything concrete. I'm trying to ascertain the pro/cons (other then the larger market) of investing in AU, thanks.

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Firstly I have no idea. Others might be able to help. However for any sizeable investments I would recommend that you talk to a good financial advisor/planner tax specialist. There is always fine print that might bite you in the future.
