Opening an Australian bank account from NZ

Hey guys,

I'm an NZ citizen studying in New Zealand, was wondering if anyone knows if I am able to open an Australian bank account from NZ?

I mention this because I've been trading the ASX for a while but constantly exchanging money through my NZ bank for each trade is starting to add up.

You can open a foreign currency account in an NZ bank. I have an AUD currency account set up at ASB. I bank my cheques straight in with no foreign currency fees.
