Can any one please tell me where I would find out the number of transactions that have taken place on a given stock on any day etc.

Hi Vito.

You will find the number of trades "Trades" in the market depth summary of any online trading platform.

think that vito is meaning the number of executed transactions, not the buy and sell orders in the queue in market depth

That's right yonnie. In the above E*trade Pro 'Market Depth - Summary' the number of "Trades" or executed transactions for that day is 95... changed continuously with last trade price, high, low etc.
 
It would come in handy for calculating VWAP .

I've lost a site that used to do it for you dino charts or something like that .... had a green cartoon dinosaur on it .

Anyone know the site I mean ?

LOL ... I also looked up vamp.com - thats a site for vampires! (I kid you not). Well, vampires or brokers, whatever.

To get back on track (sort of) stocknessmonster is run by a firm that also has a web-based application called Vamp.
