Has anyone else from direct shares (St George) tried to log on to etrade today? We are supposed to start trading on ETRADE 11-09-06,but have access to the site at the moment to look around and get familiar with it after HSBC selling out.
I keep getting invalid ID when I try to log in.
Not too impressed all round, have not been able to view my portfolio to get an update after fridays close, just hope the log in details they sent work tomorrow.

I think I got an email last week about scheduled downtime. I've deleted it now, but I'm pretty sure it was E*TRADE.

I can log into Etrade right now.

Not real impressed with their lack of information on warrants, but otherwise seems okay so far.

HSBC was a real PITA the last few days, with heaps of server errors and problems.

Cheers,
GP

yeah, HSBC was a dog!

showed shares i had sold, didn't show ones i bought!!!
i pretty much couldn't trade on Friday!

i just hope they don't stuff anything up in this transfer!

Thanks for the response.I still can't log on at 6 pm..
Was supposed to be up and running with transfers completed at 5pm.
My pw may be stuffed,as I keep getting "this pw is invalid for this site".
When I try to log in to direct shares instead of ETRADE,out of frustration a page unavailable message comes up.
Surely even a kindergarden kid would have thought to provide a link to take clients to where they are expected to finish up,to make any changeover as smooth as possible.I will have to get on the phone to them early tomorrow.
I agree hsbc, directshares, etrade or whoever, have been apita this last week.Been so sloooooow, and coming up with server errors nearly 50% of the time.
Got an account with a Sanford offshoot which I have never traded with, may have to give it a closer look.

Try logging in on the old site, I had trouble logging into etrade one day last week and etrade told me to use the old site. I'm not sure if it will work for hsbc account but give it a try.

Its on the left hand site, underneath highlights on the login page.

Have already tried the old site.Get a message"please note you are not authorised to use this function",then on the side in big letters APPLICATION,whatever that means.

I can log in, but my portfolio from HSBC isn't showing up yet. The correct figures are there under My Accounts, but nothing in the Portfolio list.

Similar problems here, looks like they have had problems with the migration of data, not expecting things to run smoothly tomorrow.

Likewise, nothing in the profolio Yet..

I hope i can trade properly tomorrow?

What happens if we can;t? Are we entitled for a law-suit? :

I have logged on and checked it out, after a bit of looking around seems alright even lists my Canadian stocks and it appears I can trade them on line instead of over the phone.
Missing things, there is no intraday chart and looks like you have to pay for research

It doesn't seem the most logical.
This is what I am getting under portfolio, I can see my stocks under account positions but from below they should only be under account positions if they are under a margin loan.

"There are no holdings in this Portfolio
If your account is linked to a margin loan please note your Portfolio will only display stocks that have been traded through your directshares account. To view all stock associated with your Margin Loan please refer to Account Positions."

You can get full research if you change over to Etrades standard pricing which is higher brokerage unless you traded regularly. Seems they have kept directshares users on the same fees as previously but taken away a bit of functionality, it probably worth while upgrading. The interface in Etrade seems over complicated compared with HSBC which was simple and functional.

This is too slow...
before i try to use their system and quiet fast...
but now, have to wait for 3-4 minutes just to get the up to date data?
how we suppose to trade like this?

Well now I can't log in at all, on neither of my IDs.

And not surprisingly, their phone number is constantly engaged.

Great start Etrade...

how can we complain with this?
earlier this morning, they transfer wrong volume of my account.
call them and have to wait for 10 minutes.
they didn't seems to understand the value of customer at all.
-sigh-

Powerkoala, you should be so lucky.Etrade still does not recognise my user id.Have tried to ring the help number for 2 hours, keep getting a message that all lines are busy, try again later. Not even an option to get in a queue.
Sent an email at 9.00 but not holding my breath.

I can't log on either and I'm a regular etrade client, not a new HSBC migrant. Was just about to make a killing too!
