@Dona Ferentes took a little while for it to pop up in the news but the graphite boost is to due to a very large Trump tariff on Chinese graphite both natural and synthetic. Not sure how long this will last for graphite players because it takes a very long time to get new supply on tap and by that time Trump will be gone.

the desire for resource security meets the impracticality of fast tracking marginal resources plus any supply and price response by incumbent producers.

I'm not sure many of these "critical minerals" will get up. We've already had several booms and slumps . All these challenges make me cautious about committing to anything.

Just keep an eye out for what I'm selling as a buy signal. I sold this turkey in June as a tax offset. Still have some options though.

As previously announced, Kingsland Minerals has an off-take agreement with Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners. The agreement provides for Quinbrook to buy graphite concentrate produced by Kingsland’s Leliyn graphite project in the Northern Territory for processing into value added products including battery component manufacturing in Australia and internationally.

At 30 June 2025, the Company held approximately $1.1 million in cash

HIGHLIGHTS
▪ Metallurgical tests find muscovite mica is the major host of gallium with strong grades up to 135 ppm Ga (181 ppm Ga₂O₃)
▪ In light of these results, flotation test work is now underway to float the muscovite mica and biotite mica with the aim of producing gallium concentrate
▪ The production of gallium as a by-product to graphite could have a major impact on Leliyn’s economics
▪ Kingsland has already completed an Exploration Target for gallium at Leliyn and plans to publish a maiden gallium JORC Resource later in 2025
▪ Global demand for gallium is extremely strong following China’s decision late last year to ban exports of gallium to the US
▪ Gallium is a crucial component of advanced electronics, optical equipment and has several military applications
▪ Gallium price is USD1,089/kg (AUD1,670/kg)
▪ Leliyn graphite concentrate scoping study is progressing well with completion expected this quarter; This study will not incorporate the gallium.

My pitiful amount of 25c options expire in Oct 26. There is still hope.

Should be in the graphite thread I suppose, but I like teasing myself that I sold this at the absolute bottom.



When combined with a countervailing duty determination of 11.5%, an existing 25% tariff, and a Trump imposed 30% tariff, the get-out-of-here moves on the Chinese imports amount to a punitive 160%.

As analysis by Jarden put it, end consumers of AMM now face a choice between up to a 160% duty on Chinese AAM or simply purchasing production from (Syrah’s) Vidalia (due to produce its first commercial AAM later this year and planned to be four times bigger than its current rated capacity).

“China controls the global AAM supply chain and can either flood the market with non-commercial product or use export licence controls to restrict supply - an easy way to weaponise the lithium-ion battery industry,” Jarden said.

“The US has acknowledged this and has moved to foster the ex-China AAM industry. The minimum 105% wall against Chinese AAM fundamentally alters procurement economics for North American battery manufacturers.

KINGSLAND:

The rest of the non-China world is as wary as the Americans are of letting the Chinese control lithium-ion batteries and by extension, their electric vehicle car industries and batteries for renewable energy storage.

So new sources of a key battery material like graphite will increasingly be sought as the non-China world gets busy building out its own supply chains. America’s recent actions in the graphite space give it first-mover status.

But others will follow, which is why there has been a noticeable improvement in sentiment towards the ASX graphite juniors since the US anti-dumping measure on AAM was announced last month.

One of those to benefit has been Kingsland Minerals (KNG) which has risen 33% since the US made its move to 16c. The company owns the large Leliyn graphite deposit 250km south of Darwin.

Having said that, metallurgical work by Kingsland has confirmed the potential for Leliyn to host a virtual cornucopia of strategic metals, making it somewhat of an ETF in the critical minerals space.
