It's Raining

The day started off with a bit of sun and a couple of light weight nuisance value showers.
Since lunch time this has changed somewhat as the showers to be turning to rain.
I did start a couple of tidy up jobs but with the dampness seemingly creeping in interest is lost pretty fast.

Sunnyish down here on the flats ATM, but enthusiasm approximately zero... actually about -100 and reviewing my life choices...

I keep thinking I should go and do this, that or the other, but instead find myself doing a Dagwood Bumstead, ie: Sleeping on it, or tomorrow will do.

After arising from the Slumber Kind at an hour that I will not disclose, the Sun is shining and a cool northerly wind/breeze id blowing.
A far cry from the forecast rain and miserable temperatures that was forecast by the boffins at BOM.
Hardly had enough precipitation to wet the ground.
Forecast is 15-40mm for today.
Yeah spot on Weather Bureau boffins.

We've had some nice heavy showers down in the valley as of midday.

Thought we here on the Scarp haven't had buckets of rain, the weather has certainly turned wintery since lunchtime.
At the moment feels like a very comfortable 8-9 degC
Much warmer in front of the warming wood fire watching the AFL footy..
About 10mm to date.

Another wet day today, I will have to venture outside to get more soon, just waiting for a break to carry out this task.

Managed to get outside in between showers/rain to check the rain gauge to date 52.5 mm.
Puddles and huge amount of surface water laying everywhere.
Beckons well for the Spring growth later on, as the soil profile is now well and truly filled up

No movement here today, Wayne, cold and miserable. Wood fire is great to be near!!!!

The rain is awesome, not whinging at all, but another lost day of work for me. ~30mm since yesterday down here.

Probably should catch up on paperwork, but the inner sloth prevails

I have started some of the fencing repair work around the place caused by the storms earlier this year, then the rain started.
I keep looking at the taxation paperwork to be done and then quietly close the desk drawer on it, again.
Precipitation starting again.

The temperature here on the Scarp today is akin to Antarctic stuff.
8.5degC and feels like well anybody's guess 4-5degC I reckon.

With the precipitation continuing for about another hour, the time might be right for a arvo kip.
Done nothing to prove I need it, but it's more of a comfort thing.
The outside work can wait another day or two or three.
Depending on the inclemency of the weather.

Another 40mm in the last couple days down on the Ponderosa. Bell's is at the high water mark on the rocks and heard somewhere the Swan is at minor flood levels.

With a forecast range of 6mm-20mm for today, with very little in the gauge as yet.
Temperature forecast of 14deg but sitting on 15deg and feels like about 10deg.
Very hard to interested in anything outside.
The wood fire is the attraction in this household at present.

150 mm on the coastal belt over the last c30 hrs. And it looks like inland - W and SW slopes - fared well, setting up a good season
