Summary view of the recent meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated boilerplate anti-Western rhetoric at the BRICS summit on August 24 despite some members’ statements against turning BRICS into an “anti-Western” organization. Putin made claims about the BRICS countries’ “unanimous” support for the formation of a multipolar world and reiterated boilerplate Russian rhetoric aimed at painting Russia and its partners as opposing the West.

Some founding BRICS countries seemed less willing to fully align with Russia and its anti-Western rhetoric during the BRICS summit; Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that he did not want BRICS to be a “counterpoint to the G7, G20, or the United States.” South Africa’s representative in the BRICS negotiations, Anil Sooklal, stated that “BRICS is not anti-West.”

The BRICS countries adopted the Johannesburg II Declaration on August 24 which included standard statements promoting multilateralism and more representation for developing countries in international organizations.
 
IMO could accelerate the adoption of a World digital currency, if there becomes a $U.S based system and a $BRICS based system, there would have to be a way of weighting each system to facilitate inter zone trade.

The more the merrier, and the stronger the BRICS.

Unity is strength...they'll trade amongst themselves with their own currency...never under estimate the underdog...team work could turn around and bite us on our behind.
 
India files a "strong protest" with China after Chinese maps show "Aksai Chin" and "Arunachal Pradesh" being Chinese territories. This incident comes only days after Chinese maps showing the entire "Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island" (Chinese: Heixiazi Island) , which eastern part is currently under Russian administration, being Chinese. "BRICS" is nothing more than a meaningless marketing term.

given the tendency of the US and EU to sanction ( unilaterally ) would you really want to trade between blocs , after all you might be the next nation sanctioned for 'circumventing sanctions ' ( of a non-UN agreed nature )

i still think a world-shaking option would be annual trade settlement in gold bullion tempting many nations into balanced trading ( no trade deficits ) imagine several G7 nations attempting that , arms spending would plummet

in fact with world trade fractured would the UN crumble as well
 
Indonesia has officially joined BRICS as a full member, which also includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the UAE. Brazil announced that the decision to admit Indonesia was made by Consensus after approval during the 2023 BRICS Summit in Johannesburg. Its formal entry was delayed until after the Presidential Election, with President Prabowo Subianto taking Office in October.
 
You mean tariff on Russia or Russia China india trade?
For the brics, the advantage is it totally bypass the usd sphere...
The saudis are probably the mist vulnerable there to follow the US but not a given based on opec response .
Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan Australia, EU now fully dependent on US gas after the Ukraine fiasco are in no position to really fight back, India and China not on the same basket.
And remember thus is a business deal Trump us playing , poker style,with a first strong stance to reach a positive deal
Whatever happens, get some ammos to fight for your bullions
