Assignments are often given for the purposes of furthering the education of the assignee (namely yourself). Delegation of the assignment, in its entirety, defeats that purpose.

However, querying a forum, for insight into answers to questions/problems your assignment poses, might be considered as research, and hence viewed in a more favourable light by whomever is grading your assignment.
