Hi all,

Have been watching a particular stock with interest for a while now and noticed yesterday that it had huge increase in volume and when i was looking at the course of sales just to be nosey there where 20+ transactions (last count) of share sales for a quantitiy of 83,334. I'm sure i have read a long time ago someone explaining this on this website but i cannot find it nor can i remember the explanation. is it someone quietly taking a large position in this stock or something else? Is there any significance to this sort of thing?

Cheers

Probably a broker trying to hide a large order by breaking it up. Maybe an iceberg order being hit, or someone buying/selling in parcels. Doesn't really mean anything without looking at the circumstances...

Could be a big seller selling to a few buyers or the other way around. Could be a fund buying/selling with a 5year view that won't care about what happens in 3 months let alone 1 day.

Xactly. There's always TWO sides of one trade. Its always funny when someone sees a big trade then uses it to confirm their biases.
