Before and after trading hours?

hi all, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what happens before and after hours on the stock market and how trades take place in those times. Not very familiar with that part yet. Thanks heaps!

Hi Blaz, this question never stops getting asked. In fact, it is asked so often that I just started merging all the threads that asked this question together and created a thread named, Thread #1,000,000 about the pre-open! and have made it a "sticky" thread in this very forum.

The phenomenon you refer to is called the "pre-open" and you will find an easy to understand explanation in the thread I linked to.
