AFT Corporation Limited and AFS South Africa Sign Memorandum of Understanding
Sydney -- 18 January 2006 -- AFT Corporation Limited today announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Advanced Fastening Systems (AFS) South Africa.
The MOU gives AFS South Africa rights to manufacture and sell products that incorporate the Microgenix Global technology under its own brand.
Sean Dobson of AFS South Africa said, “In South Africa, we recognise the growth of public interest in improving indoor air quality and the risks of potential infection from airborne pathogens.
“Our partnership with AFT Corporation is a great opportunity to fuel this market with a range of high-quality portable and room-based air pathogen control systems.”
According to Jim Palmer, chief executive officer of AFT Corporation Limited, AFS South Africa has agreed to prepare a joint plan with AFT Corporation to pilot and ultimately roll-out the products.
“As an Australian owned and operated company, we are greatly encouraged to see AFS taking our technology into the South African market.
“This partnership is reflective of our global business strategy which sees us tapping into new industries via existing distribution networks, which involves forming partnerships with OEMs and joint ventures,” he said.
The agreement with AFS South Africa also includes an immediate order for Microgenix units, for testing and local certification.
AFS South Africa and subsidiaries, have over 50 years of combined experience in importing, exporting, equipment manufacturing, air conditioning, sales and service. AFS South Africa aims to supply quality products with outstanding after sales service.
