Hi all,

Just bought my first batch of shares (PFG in case anybody was wondering :) ) and went onto the computershare data base to check my details. They've got my settlment account missing a 0 in front of the account number (I'm with Commsec) and I was wondering if that's going to cause any problems?

E.g my Commsec account looks like this on Commsec: BSB ###-### Account Number: 0#######
whereas the account number that computershare has recorded looks like this: BSB ###-### Account Number: #######.

Thanks guys,

Hope my dividends dont go to the wrong account!

I use Commsec but do not have any 0 if front, but do have other accounts with zeros with out any issues. Ring commsec and ask

... Commsec: BSB ###-### Account Number: 0#######
... computershare: BSB ###-### Account Number: #######. ...

It's a "LEADING ZERO". Computershare has probably got a leading zero on your record.
Format settings allow the redundant zero to be dropped from the screen display or printouts.

Hope this helps!

My Commsec account number also has a leading zero, but when I log in to Computershare it drops the zero. This has never caused an issue with my trades.

exactly the same here - have been doing it for a while, no problems at all (the zero is at the front).
