Retirement-Semi Retirement, (Tech/a personal study) implementation and discussion

It annoys the bejesus out of me when these dudes start banging on about life expectancy tables. News flash: somebody has to die in order for those tables to be compiled. I am not aware of any 30 year old who plans to dies at 43 but it happens such as a work colleague who dropped dead in front...

    Cashless society

Maybe Visa is going to move in the direction of Mastercard which is proposing doing away with numbers and using bio-metrics, one-time numbers and PINs to enhance security (or so it claims.)

MUSIC - What are ASF members listening to?

Mama Kin Spender in early October. Tickets paid and accommodation booked for two nights (I'm not driving about 3 hrs each way to the South Coast of NSW in one day/evening.)

    ARG - Argo Investments

It was certainly great seeing the bank balance bounce up when the dividend was paid. However, the share registry is awfully slow in getting the funds to the bank and the dividend advice out in comparison with other LICs and ETFs.

    Cashless society

And don't get me started when the goods cost, say, $1.15 and you hand over $2.15 but the cashier hands back the 15c plus 85c in change from the till.

    Cashless society

The flaw is inadequate training by the owners. I acknowledge they are also time poor and under the pump but training of employees is an essential job if they want the business to be successful.

    Cashless society

I was close to laughing the other day when I went to use cash to pay for some small items. Totaled $17. The young lass became completely confused. She had rung up the amount to include a card surcharge and was utterly flummoxed when I told her I wasn't paying the amount of $17.27 as shown on...

Superannuation, the ultimate government cash cow?

While on the surface it may appear reasonable, it omits that people also have the ability to choose the product provider they use to invest funds. It is that choice which was the cause of them losing their funds invested in First Guardian and Shield.

Superannuation, the ultimate government cash cow?

The above two posts have, maybe unknowingly, supported my contention in Post #3381.

    The completely useless irrelevant thread

Since you have nothing to do @farmerge while away your time messing about with this. https://www.calcmaps.com/

    The completely useless irrelevant thread

Since my house is on a ridge, almost 4km from the nearest body of water and 70 meters in elevation above it, I'll worry about flooding if I have to wave to Noah as he floats past.

That's awesome. Strangely enough at 6:15 pm EST, it's dark outside at this location - Latitude: 35°17′35″S, Longitude: 149°07′37″E

SOL - Washington H. Soul Pattinson and Company

Travel funds have been received in the account. Still haven't spent all of the money received in May. Life is hard, very hard.

Superannuation, the ultimate government cash cow?

Yes. No surprise there are practitioners encouraging people to access their superannuation for dental and cosmetic treatment. In addition, many consider it "their" money and combined with wanting to feel or look better. Now if the Government in it's wisdom (?) decided to introduce legislation...
