Our fed. flag pole is one of the biggest stainless-steel structures in the world. Constructed from polished Newcastle steel it has 4 poles joined by cross-pieces. UK has Big Ben and we had Big Ben Chifley , Big pig-iron Bob and Big Bob Hawke , RIP. It began in Russia at 3000 BCE. Here's a pic of a 4-sided copper club which became Indra the Hindu's vajra club.

    https://www.academia.edu/3836804/An_Indo-Iranian_Symbol_of_Power_in_the_Earliest_Steppe_Kurgans
Harry Falk gives a detailed description of the principal characteristics of the vajra , comparing it with a club. Falk states: “In the Rig Veda it is Indra who takes up the vajra , he hurls it in a rotating fashion, he throws it ".
    RV 4.22.2, cáturaśrim "lightning missile-stone 4 sided ,"
But it had one more very important characteristic—it glistened:
Rig Veda: “The owner of golden horses takes up The weapon - golden vajra in his hands.” RV 3.44.4.
“ the glistening vajra, Covered by light ”. RV 3.44.5 .

    And. So? What's the connection?

"The accounts of Barak and Buckley attest to the widespread belief in central and southern Victoria that the sky was held up by props located in a specific mountainous area in the northeast of Victoria or an otherwise remote location. It was also widely believed that ‘tomahawks’ (i.e. axes) were used, in some cases by a supernatural being, to maintain these props, suggesting that an important conceptual link was made between everyday axes and the supernatural axes used to keep the sky from falling. (Howitt 1904,310).
Howitt (1884, 186) recorded the Kulin belief that the sky was a dome propped up by poles resting ‘somewhere in the mountains in the north-east of Victoria’. If the poles should fall, it was said, the sky would collapse and the clouds would burst, releasing their water and drowning everyone. Concerning this belief, Barak recalled the following incident to Howitt: Before the ‘white men came to Melbourne’ a message was passed from tribe to tribe, until it reached the Wurunjerri, that the props were becoming rotten, and that unless tomahawks were at once sent up to cut new ones, the sky would fall and burst, and all the people would be drowned … A similar message reached the Wiimbaio, having been passed from tribe to tribe down the Murray River. It was to the effect that the props were becoming rotten, and that unless some tomahawks were sent at once the sky would fall... However, the widespread notion in southeastern Australian cosmologies that stone axes kept the sky from falling suggests that the production of axes and their movement across the landscape in specific, non-random directions were underwritten by complex symbolic considerations and beliefs, such as the need to propitiate certain dangerous supernatural forces and to maintain cosmic order ."

Kulin karkain, kargin "stone axe". Old Java language Indonesia is about 25% Sanskrit vocabulary.
कर्केणत karkeNata species of quartz .
कर्क karka white . good. excellent.

The Kulin greenstone axes came from Mt William Melbourne . "Greenschists have an abundance of green minerals. Other common minerals include quartz, A greenstone is sometimes a greenschist. greenstone belts comprise conglomerate, quartz arenite, .. quartz arenite is a sandstone composed of greater than 90% detrital quartz,. " " The Melbourne terrane, extending east from Bendigo terrane as far as the Mt Wellington fault zone 200km NE Melbourne [Fergusson et al., 1986], quartz-rich elastics.. composed of redeposited quartz- rich sedimentary rocks,".

The primary owner/ manager of Mt William quarry in the 1830s was Old Ningulabul — whose name meant ‘stone tomahawk’ (McBryde 1984a, 272), but also ‘shining ...like the sun shining on a smooth stone’. He was a Ngurungaeta elder. Old Java negarane gita means "song of country" .

    do you get the drift?

Good man , here's another load.
The Russian vajra and Vedic gods from Mesopotamia went to India.

"The vishvavajra, crossed vajra, is the foundation of Mt. Meru’s universe,( the cosmic world-mountain). The raised wooden throne on which sit high lamas, such as the Dalai Lama, has vishvavajra at its center, four swastikas in the corners. ..crossed vajra are on the metal base of deity statues after they have been consecrated. vertical vajra represents a deity, the horizontal vishvavajra represents a mandala palace. (Beer, R. 1999. The Encyclopedia of Tibetan Symbols and Motifs. Shambala.)

"Tibet Vajrapani . In a painted form, with "crossed-vajra" above the accompanying Bodhisattvas ;.."
"In Indonesia, Vajrapani is depicted as a part of triad with Vairocana and Padmapani.(embodiments of Buddha). Famous 3 metres tall stone statues of them can be found in a central chamber of Mendut temple, 3 kilometres east from Borobudur, Central Java ."

In Nepal .."as guardian of gateways, this vast crossed-vajra ..supports the whole structure of the mandala palace symbolizing the immovable stability of the vajra-ground on which it stands." (Beer. Handbook Tibetan Myth 2003).

"..a viśvavajra (crossed vajra) is depicted on the four sides of a central, usually square surface, with bījas (syllables) incised within this space or a text ... the presence of the crossed vajra on these altars are elements pointing to presence of Vajrayāna in the region of Padang Lawas from the eleventh century onwards. .visvavajra is an attribute of Hevajra ( a Tantric deity) sustaining the symbolic image of the cosmos, which is the maṇḍala in the incised Sumatran altar ...The Buddhist community of Padang Lawas was thus more essentially connected to the region which might have been the last stronghold of Vajrayāna in Eastern India, i.e. the region lying in the south-eastern part of the Gangetic Delta.. which was also a source of inspiration for thirteenth-century images in East Java. It is further possible that when monks had to abandon their monasteries in South Asia, they sought refuge in the Indonesian archipelago in the early thirteenth century. All this indicates Padang Lawas was situated in close proximity to the region of South Sumatra or Malay peninsula which was deeply integrated within an international political and religious network..."

In 1222 Kritajaya king of Kadiri escaped a murderous coup by abusive clergy and "disappeared without trace" ( Coedes 1968). His navy had been sailing to west Papua and he was a Hindu-Buddhist . Bundjalung and Dharawal people of NSW remember that boats arrived " from the north" , "due to wars in the central part of the world". They brought benefits , laws and languages. A skull with sword-cut from Barkindji west NSW is dated to 1200s by ANU.

In Old Java, the word tantu (Skt. "a succession of sacrificial performances") means " establishment of the world order (the world = Java); established holy place, by which this order is maintained".
    but there's more.

The crossed vajra seems to be the same as palang , both being weapons.
Cebuano Philippines . palang type of cutlass. It made use of jenns spirits.
palango rattle made of cane to scare away animals.
Indonesia parang sword , used jinni spirits.
Malay palang bar. sword. cross piece.
    Old Javanese , Balinese . palaŋ cross-beam .

"As Buddhism expanded it fused with Hellenistic influences into Greco-Buddhism, Heracles represented Vajrapāni . Buddhaghosa associated Vajrapāni with the deva king Indra. Some authors believe it's actually Zeus with thunderbolt. Vajrapāni as Heracles or Zeus, second-century Indo-Greek.. Scenes of Buddha using the vajra of Vajrapani to propagate "superiority of his doctrine" are also common."

The karkain axe is linked with Victoria's sky-pillars . Plonggi is linked with South Australia's Lake Eyre , Kati Thanda "meeting place of bosses" or "Buddhist hermitage" in Old Java. One of the Kati Thanda fossil sky-trees is held by Sth Australia Museum and would look suitable next to Parliament's flag-pole. The pillar is kadimarkara as in the makara image on the curved prongs of the vast crossed-vajra of Nepal's temples.

Here is the South Australian legend:

    https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:Native_Tribes_of_South-East_Australia.djvu/826
    p 826,827.

"This legend professes to account for the origin of the fossilised marsupials and other creatures which are found in several places in the Lake Eyre district, and also for that of the mound springs which are so marked a feature of that part of Australia. These fossils are called by the tribes-people Kadimarkara, creatures which in the Mura-mura times descended from the sky-country to the earth, by means of great trees which grew on the eastern shores of Lake Eyre, and supported the sky. "

"..the Dieri perform magical ceremonies for the multiplication of their totemic animals, no doubt with the intention of thereby increasing the food-supply of the tribe... To judge from the description of him, he seems to be one of those fossil beasts or reptiles which are found in the deltas of rivers flowing into Lake Eyre. Such fossil bones are called kadimarkara by the Dieri." _James George Frazer - .

摩羯座 龙柱 Mójiézuò lóng zhù, Makara dragon pillar . "Earth was represented by a square and Heaven by a circle; several features of the temple complex symbolize the connection of Heaven and Earth, .Emperor of China as Son of Heaven, at the winter solstice ( of Capricorn constellation) went to the Earthly Mount at the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest .. There are four main supportive, dragon pillars each representing a season. . Twelve inner pillars symbolize the lunar months, and it is thought that the twelve outer pillars refer to the 12 two-hour periods of the day." Crocodiles are water spouts there.

The crocodile, building and water-springs are seen in Indonesian temples of Makara.
Skt kadhi "ocean". Old Java kadiwas "sea fish" , Indonesian Kkala kadi "crab".
Possibly salt-water kadi is in kadimarkara as "salt-water crocodile" of salty Lake Eyre contrasted with ordinary makara fresh-water crocodiles. Indonesian terms may be seen in the name of a stone-axe supplier:

In Victoria," the primary owner/ manager of Mt William quarry in the 1830s was Old Ningulabul — whose name meant ‘stone tomahawk’ (McBryde 1984a, 272), but also ‘shining ...like the sun shining on a smooth stone’. "

Old Java language. ni , niṅ connective particle n + i (iṅ). See i a particle with a prepositional function before nouns,. preposition meaning : in , on by , through , with .
galuh (Skt galū, a sort of gem) jewel . Javanese galuh is not galU as in Skt., but galar.
bulu a certain weapon (to stab or pierce). ( not uh or ū , but like mull ).
So Ningalarbulu may be from " With jewel weapon " which resembles the meanings given .
