Good horse, best of the Aussies, Magic Circle is one tough horse and Yucatan dominated.
Real quality race this year. Not sure yet.

I am looking at Red Cardinal. I chose him because he is being ridden by Damien Oliver.

The overseas horses that are targeting the cup now, are top quality not the second raters that first appeared. Unfortunately they're pushing the locals out of the race.

A 2 mile race of quality stayers under handicap conditions is always going to be a lottery.

Notwithstanding their successes, overseas horses are always at a disadvantage, not only because of the logistics, but also because Oz racing is like MMA, compared to the Marquis of Queensbury style they are used to.

A bit of rain will further muddy the waters, so to speak.

If it wasn't the cup, I'd stand aside from a race like this, but dammit, I'm taking the day off so I'm gonna have some skin in the game. :p

Youngstar is the stable mate of Winx apparently. Alan Jones has been all over it - greatest Horse since Phar Lap, better than Winx.
May it run stone cold motherless last :D

I live over the other side of the city and it is bucketing down here as well. I think the horses may need floaties and flippers. It is going to wreak havoc with the ladies' fashions.

I'm sticking with Youngstar, and I'm going to add a little spec bet on Whoshotthebarman.

Both on an each way basis

Lol. Whats your derangement thread got to do with this!

Whatd Alan Jones say this morning? Something like, when Winx and Youngstar are together, Youngstar gives Winx the look and allows it to lead or something. Sounded a bit of B.S. to me.
Then Jones described the Track. "They start down that end". A minute later he corrected himself "ah no, they start from the other end".
    How's Jones's form :D

In all fairness DK in Victoria horses run anti-clockwise with left turning bends and in NSW they run clockwise in a right turning bend, so I can understand his mistake.
