Might be the year for a Standout First 4.

Anchored around the Japanese horse, which looks well supported, and has a reasonable barrier too.

Got this hunch about Trip to Paris ... no reason, know nothing 'bout horses, but tend to pick the winner more times than not.

Might change my mind last minute.

Warning: As there are no charts available, all I can go by is a gut feeling. and if you know my gut.... :D

A mate said Bondi Beach, but he also said that this is the one race that is just too hard to pick, and this year is harder than ever...

No. 4 for me. Had no idea who or what it was until I placed the bet and looked at what was printed on my ticket.

Congrats to the Prince of Penzance, who must've been scared that Dynamite blew up close behind him before he could pirate the Cup.

As expected, no Fame Game was played, Bondi remained dry (should've asked the Bondi Vet for some juice-up), and whowver shot the Barman won't take a Trip to Paris either.

To all fellow losers: Better luck in 2016. Only 366 days to go :D

Long odds winner would have been difficult for the experts to pick. Incredibly well kept secret.

It's so hard to pick a winner in The Melbourne Cup and many times a long shot takes a share of the winnings. So every year I do a very cheap bet, I put $1 for a place on the 5 longest shots, total cost $5. This year I had 1, 16, 18, 19 and 21. I was quite chuffed when Prince of Penzance came in, it paid $21.60 for my one buck, not bad.:D

You know the deal Bill. Put some weight on and the results are different.
