Got the early Quaddie and picked 4 winners at Flemington.

James McDonald will defend the coveted Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next month, landing the ride on superstar filly Coolangatta. After demolishing the field aboard Nature Strip over the 1000m straight trip last year, McDonald is adamant he is on the fastest horse in the country yet again in the form of Coolangatta.

McDonald has not ridden the three-year-old filly since running third in the 2022 Group 1 Golden Slipper, with Jamie Kah in the saddle for her two Group 1 wins at weight for age level.

Also riding Artorius in the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes (1200m) at Royal Ascot on the last day of the five-day carnival, McDonald is set for a bumper week and says Coolangatta is set to emulate Nature Strip’s performance on the first day of the carnival on June 20.

According to New Corp, along with Nature Strip last year, fellow Australian sprinters Choisir (2003), Takeover Target (2006), Miss Andretti (2007), Scenic Blast (2009) and Black Caviar (2012) have won at Royal Ascot.

Coolangatta currently $4.50 a salute and $1.87 a place fixed for the King Stand Stakes. rcw1 on.

Reckon Hawaii Five Oh #18 barrier 3, will be hard to beat in the Straddie. Trained by G Waterhouse and A Bott. Big meet for Rachel King, will she be the first female jockey to win the race??? Race 8 goes at 3.52pm ... made rcw1 mind up coin on $5 a salute fixed and place bet on Tote ...

Short priced favourite is Think About It, trained by Joe Pride (Warrick Farm stable) drawn barrier 12; jockey Sam Clipperton, has a very unique win rate of 89% -
9: 8 - 1 Interestingly, hasn't won over 1400M yet...

I'm in the lottery camp for this year, but at this stage thinking I'll back the Five-O

Brissie cup pretty sure I'll go with Teofilo Star (along with every man and his mongrel dog)

May change my mind on the day (usually a bad idea lol).

Flemington six races eight horses No Quinellas come close with the 3rd: 2 x salutes and 1 x place (no 3rd dividend);
Rosehill four races 1 x salute and 2x place;
Ipswich two races for 1 x place;
Murray Bridge one race for 1 x salute

Flemington tips with a couple of also rans in the 7th and 9th races, resulted in disappointment for rcw1;
but that’s racing … the bloody things ha ha ha ha
