Good evening
rcw1 score card for racing tips 06/05/23:
Not real flash results. Had a chop at some high odd horses today, believing they would come home. That's life on the punt, anyways, got some earn in the back pocket, high expectations to start with, however, in reality, low return:

Sunshine Coast seven races for salute x 2;
Gosford: two races and three horses for 1 x place;
Sandown: two races for 1 x salute and 1 x place;
Ascot: two races for no earn... ):
Morphettville: two races for 2 x places but no 3rd dividend for both races ):

Have a very nice Sunday.

Good evening
James McDonald will defend the coveted Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next month, landing the ride on superstar filly Coolangatta. After demolishing the field aboard Nature Strip over the 1000m straight trip last year, McDonald is adamant he is on the fastest horse in the country yet again in the form of Coolangatta.

McDonald has not ridden the three-year-old filly since running third in the 2022 Group 1 Golden Slipper, with Jamie Kah in the saddle for her two Group 1 wins at weight for age level.

Also riding Artorius in the Group 1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes (1200m) at Royal Ascot on the last day of the five-day carnival, McDonald is set for a bumper week and says Coolangatta is set to emulate Nature Strip’s performance on the first day of the carnival on June 20.

According to New Corp, along with Nature Strip last year, fellow Australian sprinters Choisir (2003), Takeover Target (2006), Miss Andretti (2007), Scenic Blast (2009) and Black Caviar (2012) have won at Royal Ascot.

Coolangatta currently $4.50 a salute and $1.87 a place fixed for the King Stand Stakes. rcw1 on.

Its like trading, even in a profitable system, sometimes you get drawdown.

Remembering for most punters, it's all drawdown ;)
Good evening @wayneL

Punters in the game for decades would admit to that one, all bar themselves ha ha ha ha ha. Not to mention marriages lost, houses on the market and in most extreme circumstances sadly suicide. Lost a mate in 1997. His daughter found him hanging from a beam underneath his house. Dreadful. Lost everything on the punt, horses, at the time we didn't know. Nobody did. Would never speak ill of the dead, but the lad could pick a winner. True that, up until the time he put money on it. Lose he did until there was nothing left so he ended his life. Hurt rcw1 it did. Always think what should be thought, what if... we did ... anyways, was what it was. Cannot change what happened.

Likeminded punters who throughout the decades who earned or not from the punt, are aware of what it takes to win with the risk it carries, in good times and in bad. Some might also recognise one day, that the more they say that the more they believe it Ha ha ha ha.

Have a good week wayneL.

Evening old mate rcw
.How sad this first part of the post, really feel for you.
It goes without saying, the more an idea or thought is expressed the more it can and will be believed.
I keep saying that about cattle prices. ha ha ha
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Yes.

Horse racing is the ultimate chaotic system (in the physics sense). There is a hundred ways for the best horse to lose, not the least of which is the dumshyt steering the nag around; horses like Winx that find a way to win, no matter what, are freaks.

Add to that, the negative mathematical expectancy is exceeded only by lotto. You need a @#$&ing good edge to beat that. As you know, I was running a rigid mechanical staking system using AI/machine learning for the selections.

As we know all too well, risk of ruin is high, with all the horrible consequences. Even with my system I could not adequately remove that risk. It had a few close calls, that's why I canned it.

Im not done yet, one day I'll find an elegant mathematical solution to that problem and I continue to ruminate on that, got a few idea bubbling around I'll put down on a spreadsheet one evening.

But yeah, like trading, it's a head game as much as a numbers game. You have to put that lizard brain of ours to sleep. One can never gamble their way out of trouble, it has to be the maths... stats, expectancy, probability, position sizing etc.

A bit of inside knowledge helps too (friends in low places haha). Used to have that at one point, but not any more.

Safe punting my friend.

Got the sale prices in tonight. Glad I was sitting down, about 80% down on last years for the sale for the same sought of cattle.

Good evening

Ladbrokes have won the battle for the north, revealing they will enter long-term sponsorship agreements with Cairns, Townsville and Mackay jockey clubs. In a move that will see Ladbrokes branding and on-track innovations introduced, the trio of clubs formed a bloc to break away from the traditional model, which has seen TAB the sole on-track sponsor.

Saying the clubs have been "somewhat neglected" of late, Ladbrokes are set to dramatically shake up the face of North Queensland racing. After legislation was changed last year that ended TAB's on-track exclusivity, Queensland race clubs have been able to jockey for position to secure a payday from rival corporate bookmakers. While the Brisbane Racing Club joined forced with Ladbrokes last year, the trio of North Queensland clubs are the first to follow suit, after Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba formed an alliance to sign a five-year deal with TAB.

It will see Ladbrokes be a major player in the upcoming northern cups carnival.

In a shot across the bow, Ladbrokes Australia chief executive Dean Shannon said they planned to help the three clubs to put them back on the map. "North Queensland has a rich racing heritage and a strong network of clubs and participants, but it has been somewhat neglected in recent times," he said. "The Ladbrokes team is keen to really work with these clubs to help eergise the racing offering in North Queensland, not just through their key carnivals but on an ongoing basis. "We are thrilled to get a deal done with Townsville, Mackay and Cairns and excited about some of the initiatives they have in the pipeline."

We'll see!!

Of note the three clubs host more than 75 meetings a year. Oh the joy of it all.

rcw1 will be at the Townsville track on Friday and in Home Hill on Saturday for the Burdekin Growers Race Day, 25th anniversary, sooooooooo excited ha ha ha ha

Have a very nice night.

Enjoy the Friday, more than me I hope.
Have 2 tractors refusing to start and have a sparky coming around to sort out the problems.
