I'm not a monarchist or a Republican, I just want a system that works and the current system seems to be doing its job.

Having someone above politics as Head of State who can be respected when the politicians are causing turmoil is a good thing imo, just look at the USA, if t he President turns out to be a fruitcake.

Of course the Monarchy is not perfect either, but they have the breeding to give sympathetic words at the right time without an excess of power that could be dangerous in a democracy.

This is why I have to ask of our Green supporters here; are you proud of the response from your leadership? 😲

My observation is that the Greens are alone on this one, very much so.

Everyone from political leaders from the major parties to church leaders to rock musicians have made positive comments but here we have someone saying "move on".

That's coming from a party that's somewhat notorious for itself clinging to the past and refusing to "move on" over anything they disagree with.

I'm neutral on the whole monarchy versus republic thing but no, now's not the time to be saying "move on" when someone extremely well known and respected by a very large number of people just passed away in circumstances that were unexpected by most. Everyone knew it would happen someday yes but I doubt anyone was seriously expecting it even 12 hours before it was announced so it's a shock to most.

I was really worried when they said the Queen wasn't going to meet Liz Truss but when she actually did, I thought she was OK.

Watched the Kings speech this am and it was surprisingly good. I was worried he’s going to put his nose into politics but by the tone and words it sounds like he’s going to stick to cutting ribbons and opening hospitals etc. But, let’s see.

I never read Murdoch, but after the treatment they gave Meghan and Harry, nothing would surprise me.

They started it 40+ years ago. But despite the media hating on Charles and painting him in a terrible light for decades, he took it like a man and is now killing it in the latest polls!
