Shark Mitigation Systems is a company that was incorporated in Western Australia to research and commercialise technologies that mitigate the increasing occurrence of shark attacks globally.

SMS, in collaboration with the University of Western Australia’s Oceans Institute and School of Animal Biology, developed new technology enabling the manufacture of marine apparel which aims to reduce the risk of shark attack. The technology is based on recently developed science of shark vision, neurobiology and behavioural effects.

Breakthrough science in determining what predatory sharks can see, at certain depths and distances and under certain light and water conditions has been incorporated into neoprene materials and commercial prototype wetsuit designs. This technology has been labelled: Shark Attack Mitigation Systems technology, or SAMS.

It is anticipated that SM8 will list on the ASX during March 2016.

Well it would seem that the shark thing didn’t pan out very well so there has been a change in direction and a couple of name changes over the years.
It came up as a breakout yesterday so had a quick look and it appears they are in the satellite communications game concentrating on the marine side.

The recent interest is likely due to positive operational cash flow and the appointment of Jeffrey Sengelman as chairman.

A few snippets from here & there:
The Harvest transfer technology is a hardware and software solution that provides the ability to encode multiple video, audio and synchronised data channels over satellite communications and securely decodes the stream conveniently anywhere in the world and at much lower bandwidths than previously possible.

We are a bespoke solutions provider for offshore energy, resources and renewables sectors, specialising in offshore communication technology, subsea and asset integrity risk mitigation technologies”.

Turnkey solutions for all subsea and remote operations through advanced offshore solutions, communication technology and wearable technology. Proven technology that has been used by industry since 2018.

Harvest Technology Group (HTG) has appointed Jeffrey Sengelman as the independent non-Executive Chairman, starting immediately. Jeffrey is a retired Major General in the Australian Defence Force, with a career spanning over 40 years. Recently, he was the Special Operations Commander in Australia.
"In particular, Jeffrey’s extensive national and international experience in security, defence and technology will guide and realise the company’s strategy for growth and development," he added.

I bought some yesterday. Warning: I was a bit bored at the time and felt like buying something.
