    Hello maitz!
So we've recently moved in from the UK, home all rented and settled and looking for a house. After a break of nearly two years wrapping up work, moving house, schools and whatnot, I've finally found some mind space to delve back into trading. I've day-and-swing traded micro, small and mid-cap stocks and commodities and sometimes indices in the past.

Question: What are my choices for good Aussie brokers for day/swing trading local stocks and commodities? Any big-bank brokers to avoid? One of my friends swears by commsec +/- iRess while being ambivalent about shifting to CMC himself (!), while another two hate it like my son hates Vegemite. Another chap recommended Bell Direct and another IB (which has supposedly a PITA application process). So in all, I'm totally confused right off the bat.
PLEASE throw some opinions my way to get me started.

Have a look at FP Markets. I've been with them for years and am happy with them.
