Now, I'm not advocating tossing Tony just yet... but as Warren Truss, the current leader of the Nationals is getting a bit long in the tooth, it's time to prepare for some fresh blood to take the reins of the Nationals and plan for a coup on PM'

Barnaby is the straight talking, principled bloke that is not afraid to argue and even plant his ass on the other side of the senate on the merits of a law... much to the disdain of his leader and then PM John Howard.

We have to raise our standard of government from a dictatorial party regime seemingly motivated more by self-interests, lobbyists and back room deals where you are always expected to toe the party line if you want to get along.

Barnaby has got what it takes to stand head and shoulders above his peers in the integrity stakes as indicated by growing public appeal

Given the Nationals are the junior partners of the LNP and the Libs frown on the Nationals contesting against their standing members, how are we going to get Barnaby to PM sooner than later?

You have to be joking. Barnaby is about as economically viable as Palmer.

Between tax cuts for all and 100 dams in the north, wont take long before we've got a lower credit rating than India.

It hasn't taken long for Barnaby to change his rhetoric on foreign investment.

Amazing it was kept a secret until after the by election.

Were the press bribed, threatened or just taken down to the pub with old school ties on ?

Don't think it would've made any difference - unless he jumped the fence with a bloke.

Then a Bi-election is on the cards. Thankyouverymuch...

His name is all wrong, that's why. If he was Bill Shorten we would know what brand condom failed.

Unbelievable. Great physical specimen Barnaby continues to sow his seed at 50 y.o. beyond a marriage and four children.

As equality on all fronts kicks in, I think middle age financially secure men, will become a sought after commodity.:xyxthumbs

The social changes being brought about at the moment, will have some very interesting outcomes, I think.

Barnaby....a perfect example of the 'gold standard' family that so many conservatives are desperate to protect.

People I know have a "social norm" that ages between sexes regarding relationships is to be similar. After trying the online dating path, I know most Australian women have a tight age range but European women have a more open age range.

I think Australian women's expectations are somewhat high, it will be interesting to see how it changes, as men are forced to stop seeing women as sex objects.

I'm not sure that the millenials care too much about discriminating between lust and love. so once the praetorian guard baby boomers and early X gens die out it might be back to good times for those of us who are hopefully stragglers..

If it's required for Federal public servants to cmply with a code of conduct, why shouldn't this apply to their political masters ?

Other agencies seem to have sorted this out.
