I am of the mind that the people of Byron Bay cannot be trusted with their own health, no more than they can with those of Queenslanders who they may infect.

This town small in IQ, area and population is home to bludgers at both ends of the economic spectrum who spread their sesquipedalian mystical mumbo jumbo Australia wide.

Queensland does not need you. If I want to cook I don't watch some loon who believes in crystals on the television. I put on the pan.

This Byron Bay mob will infect Queensland, if not with Covid, but with their silly ideas. We have Greens here already. We don't need more.

@Garpal Gumnut - That sounds more like Nimbin. In the last two years, Byron has cleaned up its act & after hour pub violence has been eradicated. Other than narrow streets & overcrowding, Byron is booming. I'm now wondering "when was the last time you visited Byron?"

Agree,

That part of the world is beautiful ( Byron ), when this pandemic has passed I'll no longer be travelling to QLD, something I have done on a regular basis, I'm over the boring resort scene.

Much more interesting places to be explored in NSW, Vic, NT, SA.

I haven't been in about 15 years. Was a touristy, overpriced, bell end of a town when I was last there. Crappish night-life as well. Council were zealots and full of snobs pretending to be hippies.

Much changed?

Personally I enjoyed working through Casino. Best pub food I ever ate. "Beef week" was memorable. Plenty of bored country girls.

I have not been to Byron Bay for 7 or 8 years, but it still had a whiff of mad from both the rich and the indigent then. Perhaps it has changed. I was in Murwillumbah last year and they had nothing good to say about Byron nor Nimbin. Casino was a great spot many years ago, the little I remember of raucous nights there.

I'm sorry to be so negative about Byron, but it really seems to be the nutter capital of Australia. When the border of Queensland is moved south, I would want to ensure that Byron remains in NSW.

Add Coffs harbour to the list.
Touristy with a bogan vibe.
Couldn't catch a decent meal from a restaurant there.
Ate at a fancy restaurant $100 plus mains that were terrible. I have farted more flavours.

Next night: Tried a pub.
Waited 2 hours for a bog standard dinner that was burnt round the edges and frozen in the middle. Went to kfc as the other meal wasn't edible and was told they ran out of chicken.

Yes, I judge towns on their cooking.
