AUSTRALIA had solid fundamentals and was a top investment destination, Pimco, one of the biggest global bond managers, said today.

Australia has been rated "top of Pimco's list".

Australia and Canada are "very well exposed to the growth dynamics in the emerging world and particularly through the channel of commodity prices."

The article in The Australian also discusses HSBC's not quite so bullish outlook on Australia and the IMF's upgrading of Australia's growth forecast for next year.

The article is worth reading to get a bit of a clue into how these guys think and their rational approach.

Australian Economy Turbo-Boosted By Historic Surge In Export Prices
    http://www.businessinsider.com/australian-exports-prices-rise-by-the-most-in-history-2010-7

Didn't want to start a new thread on how well Australia's economy is doing, given the success already of this thread :p: (Next thread I start on Aus, will be Australian Economy: We'll all be Rooned, that should be more popular :D)

So, article is about Australia's Terms of Trade (export prices cf import prices). Data is a bit old (Q2).

Brief article, but its the comments below that are even better, eg.:

    :D

And for the eternally pessimistic there are even some inevitable 'we'll all be rooned' comments.

    Enjoy! :aus:

I'm thinking that Bill and the boys are very close to the money. This commodity cycle should go another 10 years to be around average.

    +1
